Angry Guess what else....

I also heard that they, the gummit/hls, is forceing the hotels and places like them in places like los vagas and other gambling areas to forward to the gummit/hls the guests names, method of payment, activities, winnings or loser patterens! I'd like to think this was a joke but, according to the drudge report, it's no joke. Can you say bye-bye to the fourth amendment?

ps, as i understand, only one hotel refused to comply until they got a letter from hls. But, they folded too. I hope this is a joke.

Chit, with todays technology if the government wants to know your whereabouts and activities it's no secret.

Without hotel cooperation it might take them a little extra work but they can find out stuff with no problems whatsoever.

Take the ever getting popular LoJack (sp?) anti theft device they are selling and puttingon cars and trucks. Then there is On Star system. Then there's that little magnetic strip on credit and debit cards. Cameras danged near anywhere you go nowadays, etc.

And if the Echelon Program is for real, and I think it does exist, then it's nearly impossible to hide anyway. Heck you can't even truly mask your activities on the internet but no really complains about that.

All they've asked of the motels in Vegas (if it's accurate) is for information that allows them an eight hour coffee break now.

Not that I agree with them watching...it's just that it's a fact of life that you either accept or get an ulcer over.

Cool There is no doubt.....

You're correct, they can find out anything they want about anyone they want but,....... To me it just seems sosad that we continue to lose our rights daily over something that it appears, they really don't want to stop! Hell, if everything were to sober up and the rag heads said : "We be sorry, we will beez good little boys and girls and, you all comez tour our church, we be cool!", do you think the gummit would be happy? Hell no! Now they got to think of another excuse to deny us our rights. I still say, if you really want to stop the terrorists, pick up all the rag heads and those that are not citizens...deport now! The others, investigate, investigate and investigate until you find something and then, deport them also! If they are clean, then tell them simply:" You know why we are checking you out. You are clean and we regret the trouble, please have a good day." End of problem...... I know it sounds so simple, and, maybe it won't work exactly as described but, there has got to be a better way than throwing out the baby (our constitution) with the wash water (our pitiful efforts to stop the terrorists).

Rufus...I whole heartedly agree with you in that the government is never happy to let things ride.

They remind me of a sci-fi scenario where a beast gets larger and larger and with that it gets more and more powerful and needs more and more fuel for it's power.

Cool Really good comparison....

Now that we have identifyed the problem, how do we deny the beast it's food? I mean, I don't just want to put the beast on a diet! I want to kill the beast, or, at least immobilize it!

In my mind I have no doubts what so ever that every time I use my debit card...and the same applies to everyone else.....that the big visa company computer looks over the purchas....and Im sure that some goverment agency gets a report of everyone who purchased certin things..say guns, ammo accessories....too easy to track...hidden from people..its not the goverment its visa..american express etc. With computer technology today the goverment probably has figued out the Hopps to frearms ratio in my house and know how clean my guns are

Ever heard the term "police state"?

If the definition eludes you read back over some of Rufus's valid points in the posts and look around you at what's happening.

Stalin, Adolph Hitler, Mao Tse Tung, Bill Clinton

What do these 4 men have in common?

They believe in gun control.

If I could find it, i'd rip it out by the hair of it's chinny-chin-chin! But, I understand your question. No, heck no, I'm really unimpressed. I understand all new computers will have it soon.
