I dont generaly advocate beating people with an Ax handle...but in this case I think the dad did the right thing..should get a public service award and the police cheif buying him a beer or so at a local bar....we know he will probly be convicted..or plea it down...but This to me is a case were the carges should be dropped...I would get tossed off the jurry in this case because I would be chearing the dad...

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The father of an 11-year-old boy beat a registered sexual predator with an ax handle for touching his son, and both men were arrested, police said Tuesday.

Police said Roosevelt Reed, who is listed on the state's sexual predator registry, allegedly entered the room of other tenants at a private community home and touched the boy on the stomach before being scared off by another resident of the room.

When the boy's father learned of what happened, he beat Reed with an ax handle before police could respond, said Lt. James Troiano.

Reed was jailed on charges of burglary and battery of an 11-year-old child. The father was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery.

Reed was being held without bond and his case has been assigned to the Alachua County Public Defender's Office, jail officials said late Tuesday. The father's name wasn't released to protect the identity of the boy, so the jail could no give information on his status or legal representation.

My personal belief is that this father could have dispatched the SOB and still remain a justifiable homicide

i think the father should be commended for his restraint! if it were my kids id have splattered him across the room!

As the father of two young boys, two to the chest, one to the head and a mule kick to the dead mans groin would have been my response. This is after gettin an admission of guilt, and some proof. There is no room for these types anymore, they are not welcome here and CANNOT be rehabilitated. Lifer should be how we refer to a pedophile that gets caught, not the ultra PC, "Registered Sex Offender" bs!
