You guys who are Vietnam Vets please explain to me how this pic helps Kerry's "war hero" image. Does this pic do ANYTHING to help his chances in the Presidential race?

the Demo/Libs will claim thats Gomer Pyle in the background. as far as this Viet-Vet goes, Kerry is a user, and will do anything for a headline. |

Are you sure these are pics from an anti-war rally or are the line of those who want to jump her bones?

Well you know how he is going to spin this, first off he will remind everyone he was a big war hero, next he will play upon the baby boomers that bieng a war hero he discovered the cost of war, and decided to justify the war was wrong, remember a lot of the populace in those days were serious anti-war and thought it was bogus, he will spin his aggresive behavior to end the war as bieng a patriotic American, and save lifes blahblah blah--etc, it might work, those days were extremely polarized I have some friends that did almost the same thing, ---thats what he is going to do bank on it, ill bet dollars to doughnuts

If this country has a generational Achilles heal it is the Baby boomers. I know I am gonna offend alot of people with this but I have neven been one to hold back. Espcially with enough whiskey in me. I think the Baby Boomers are the biggest disgrace this nation has ever seen. There hearts and bravery pale in comparison to there parents. I know not all of you were wastes of valuable breathing air but as a whole this generation did more to weaken america than any other. They raised generation X of which i am a tail memeber of. This is the first generation that has had to figure out what it is to be a adult on our own in america in a long time thanks to weak worthless parents. (again I am speaking in genralities I know there were many who were very good but as a whole this generation failed) These are the weak people who would propel someone like Kerry forward to justify there actions 35 years ago.

It's not too late For those that cant enlist can still go to the gulf MPRI is hieing as wel as about 30 other American companys. 3000 a week for truck drivers and such. So any body want to go? Go help fight the war? I know I know suddenly reasons to not go spring to mind. There are allways reasons to "Not Go" Every war we have ever had, people have had reasons to not go. Now that Iraq is completly opened up to civilian Participation What excuse are you going to use to not go. I am a baby boomer I guess I try to not label my self I am still an American and I have faith that we can prevail We have to have faith the greatest weapon the Anti American have is sewing the disbelief in eachother it is insidious and can defeat us. it has defeated you. because You dont believe in the country any more. If we stick together the united states is the most powerful nation, culture, and people on the face of the earth. It has been for 60 years. its judgment that defeats us, we do it to our selves all we have to do is stop. "we" starts with you Lord Shrike Ya gotta believe

I've yet to see a candidate that exhibits as bi-polar a record as John Kerry. His service in Vietnam, his testimony in the "Winter Soldier" investigation, his Senate voting record... he seems to be a very complicated and risky candidate for the Dems. What really bothers me is that his "record" is being portrayed as honorable. His record in the Senate is as liberal a record as there is in the last 15 years. That alone is enough for me to want him defeated... but that's liberal politics reflective of the area he represents. His role in the "Winter Soldier" investigation however, is as despicable a thing I believe one can be involved in. It goes beyond liberal politics, it's morally bankrupt to exploit your fellow soldiers for personal political gain.I really have a hard time with his ratting out of his fellow vets. It really boils my blood.

maybe LS needs to see the "Wall"!!! all the baby boomers that didn't have the chance to raise gutless Gen-X wanna be's. i have seen them, they are lazy, shiftless, no account parasites. Go to any VA hospital and tell those there, they are failures, go ahead do it!!! sure we Pale in Comparison, to our parents, they lived through the depression, then took up the gaunlet to beat back all those who threatend the world. cameback and raised us baby boomers in what was right, and this baby boomer followed suite, trying to raise the next generation like wise. but noooo, my kids would rather follow those useless slugs then the right path in life. why don't we call Gen-X what they really are BIG LOSERS. |

Wow me thinks I hit a nerve! I guess thats what happens when I post after consuming a fair amount of whiskey! Still I stand by what I said. Now Mag I was not reffering to you personally or the many brave soilders you fought with. I pretensed that statement saying I know this wasn't all of you and repeated that throughout the thread. I was referring to all the draft dodgers and hippie pieces of trash that called you and your fellow soilders murders and spit on you when you came home. They systematically destroyed the moral of the Armed Forces in there war in Veitnam. Now I know there were many other reasons that war went as badly as it did but I think that was a big one. You yourself have commented on some of the dregs the draft brought in to the army. Granted there were some fine soilders that were draftee's but you have posted on this board that there were plenty who were detriments to the Military. As for boomers on social issues I stand by these comments as well. I know there were some leveled headed memebers of the generation in fact most of you who post on this board of that age were the sane minority. However the majority gave us freelove without responsibility, rampant drug use, later they brought my generation record divorce rates and broken homes because like every other challenge marraige was to tuff for them to. I can only imagine what will happen as this generation retires and the social security well runs dry. I seriously doubt they will sacrifice for there children. Nope they will thrust the burden upon them and there grandchildren. This of course the Me generation why would anything change. They will allways put themselves first. I have serious doubts as to weather America's democracy will surive that. When you compare the boomers (again on average) to there parents who sucked it up and fought the most difficult and important war in History. Who than came home and made a good life for there children and never complained or whined about it the boomers pale in comparison. How will my generation stack up? Well the book is still out on us obviously but with the bar set so low by our parents it would be hard to be any worse. I call em as I see em. If this ticks you off sorry you can remember all you want but I'm not shutting up. If you want to take a swing at me go ahead I'm not afraid to go toe to toe or fist to fist with yah.
