Lets's Get Fired Up!

Any good shooti'n stories lately?

Any one just about loose an eye to the #11 cap fragging from the nipple of you BP when ya should have had glasses on?

How about your buddie's gun he finally let ya shoot?

Did you shoot that closet special lately?

What gun will be your next buy, REALLY?

When's the last time you took the thing's out of the cabinet and oiled 'em up?

Wrote a rep lately?

Talked to a youngster about the sport?

When is the last time you picked up an empty and smelled the burned powder? (shotgun shells are the best IMO):right:

Does any one still enjoy GUNS?

Well I took my 2 sons out Sunday after church and used up some 22 ammo. Them cans and plastic bottle sure were a bit holy after 2 bricks.

Got to shot my new( To Me ) Ruger standard. Nice little gun for being made in 1960. Other than that just cleaning the guns before whistle pigs get going.

Took the SKS out Sat. and shot a 1 1/8" group(10 shots) @ 25 yds fighting wind gusts of 25-35 mph (according to the weather channel). Went out with the M-44 Sun. and sighted in the new scope. Did OK but nothing to brag about. I haven't shot the M-44 much and I catch myself flinching just before the trigger breaks. Sure is fun to shoot though my shoulder is a little sore today.

we had a guy bring in a box of paperhulled shotgun shells to the shop, you can smell the nitro right through the paper. almost as good as hoppys. lol

Thumbs up

Last range visit was alright.

1) Sighted in my BSA MkII Martini with the new target peepsight/globesight I installed.

2) Put some rounds thru my M95 Nagant revolver. Handloads were a bit anemic - 550 to 640 FPS thru the Chrony.

3) Shot my buddy's new .357Mag EMF lever carbine.

4) My buddy's Chrony survived a .45 ACP slug thru it. Last time he lets a stranger try it out!

5) Met some new friends, was invited to their campsite nearby for campfire-roasted venison. Had a great time!

My next new one is gonna be black powder. I cleaned up my old CVA Hawkens and it looks nice with the brass all shiney.
It has a problem though...the threads for the nipple are just eaten away and it doesnt frag the cap...it blows the whole nipple out. I'm afraid to shoot it anymore.
Still waiting for a reply from CVA...been a week now.
Just been working and reloading in the evenings.

How about your buddie's gun he finally let ya shoot?
I'm the buddy with the guns they wanna shoot (I usually let them)

Did you shoot that closet special lately?
No such thing as a "closet special". They all get attention in due course.

What gun will be your next buy, REALLY?
I'm looking at a P14 Enfield for $200 and /or a Mosin made in USA for $150.

When's the last time you took the thing's out of the cabinet and oiled 'em up?
All the time, wife thinks I care for them more than I do for her. Hmmmmm, I'll have to get back to her on that.

Wrote a rep lately?
3 or 4 times a year on a variety of topics. Sometimes just to see if his E Mail still works. If we win the soft war than we may not have to fight a hard one. I prefer to not let the SHTF.

Talked to a youngster about the sport?
Yes, nephew. He's game but his mother isn't. !!!! yuppie soccermom.

When is the last time you picked up an empty and smelled the burned powder? (shotgun shells are the best IMO)
If you shoot enough of them you don't have to pick one up. However, I prefer the smell of a freshly shot chamber.

Does any one still enjoy GUNS
I think you alreafy know the answer to that question!

Iv'e been working on reloading lately. Amazing how I don't have as much time as when I first started 15 some years ago. Been thinking of going progressive.

Need to start the stock on the Norinco SKS. Getting started is the hard part.

Will be putting my daughters first gun on order this payday hopefully.

Way behind on my range time but did get to put some new rounds through the Grizz this past weekend. The guys at the shop loaded some 260gr JHP's and stepped up the powder toward the upper SAAMI spec for .45 WinMag.

All I can say is "that's one bad a*s .45 automatic!" I don't think I will have any second thoughts or worries if I take it hog hunting!

Since last Nov. I've sold my L1A1 & bought a FAL Imbel carbine from ORF & a DSA STG58 & two weeks ago got a case of that Aussie .308. The last two weekends my 16yr. old daughter & I have been wringing out the carbine, haven't shot the STG58 yet. Ready to shoot .22's this weekend.
