if someone didn't challenge some of the posts here you would eventually have the same content here that they have at the Stormfront forum

Logansdad...When you refer to zero tolerance, what specific topic are you talkng about?

Zero tolerance for weapons in schools?
Zero tolerance for sexual harassment?
Aero tolerance being (or not being) PC?
Zero tolerance for speeding while having sex?
Zero tolerance for drinking and driving?
Zero tolerance for headaches 360 days a year?

There's lots of areas which have been talked about for having zero tolerance.

Anxiously waiting for your reply,

Oxford

Thumbs up

Upon further thought and consideration regarding "zero tolerance," the use of the phrase has gone too far. It's used for far too many situations as an easy "mandate" to exclude something or another, without being specifically discrete.

For example, in schools, zero tolerance is an easy wall to hide behind when this rule is applied to more and more behavioral actions of teenagers. Each specific situation should be examined very carefully before slamming the door on a youngster because he violated one of many zero tolerance rules.

Don't get me wrong. This doesn't mean I'm in favor of allowing weapons in schools. No way do I believe they should be ignored. But...just what are weapons? Guns? Baseball bats? Fists? Knives? Box Cutters? Harassment? and More? These items are unlimited. They cannot be elimnated without 100% search and screening of every person entering a school building 100% of the time. Even then fists, harassments, etc. could never be eliminated through the most careful screening process.

Therefore, zero tolerance is not the answer to all problems. Discretion in applying common sense rules must be followed. That doesn't mean ignoring rules, either. Consistant, careful, enforcement of commen sense rules is far superior to blanket mandates against any possibility which someone paranoid might imagine.

It is absolutely out of control! Dillons' Blue Press had an article about a couple of years ago. They had examples of the kid who was suspended for drawing a picture of a soldier holding a knife, one who was suspended for pointing a chicken finger at a teacher and saying "pow pow pow", etc.

But to get back on thread.

No, I don't think l Zero Tolerance has gone too far. As we are able to develop a system of laws and rules to cover every aspect of our lives. We will be improving the quality of life for millions of American, just imagine a time when you don't ever have to contemplate a situation, all you have to do is simply look it up in the great rule book and the take the action that is listed. Individuals should NEVER have to think for themselves, that is too much work. Besides there are other out there whom know more than these simpletons will ever know or hope to know.
Just get in line and shut up!!! Sheeple
