hey joe . i broke the spot weld on my sar1 yesterday. the piece that holds the top forgrip . i passed 75 rounds throught it at !!!! near full auto rate . that sucker was smokin . i am gonna get a guy to spot weld it back for me this time it ain't goin no place.:assult:
ain't nuthin shuck's i fired another 40 rounds throught it after just to see what would happen . just got alittle more smokey i figure to quick short arc tacks shound do it. the tacks should not do any damage to the gas tube. i have welded alot thinner stuff in my day.but i'm gonna keep an eye on the guy if he does it .
but then again i was lookin for a new one on the net last night . i was thinkin of buying a new one and tryin some kinda of conversions for the broke one.
Ok I got a Romanian Wasr 10 high cap. Neat rifle! Took it down and cleaned it good. Came with a 30 and 40 round mag, sling and cleaning kit. One thing I noticed is that the mags rattle from side to side. Any way to fix this? Thought about welding a thin metal plate on the side of mag weld. Any other ideas or just live with it?
Most stamped receiver AK's have some wobble in the magwell department, but WASR's are the worst...some are tight, some are loose...(like some wimmens I been with )
Unless its real excessive I wouldn't worry about it. I have heard of guys putting WASR receivers in a vise and squeezing it slowly, then rechecking it until mags fit tighter...thats up to you to try! Remember to pad the vise!
