Great looking rifles. I believe my O3A3 probably needs a little company. I'll look into what Cabela's has next time I'm there.

Ox, yep...you gotta get some company for the 03A3s.

Although, the Mosins can't hold a candle to the 03 or the 03A3, in MHO.

BUT.....the Mosins are great guns in their own respect and they are great shooters...or, at least mine are (except for the 44 which is so-so).

To me every gun I enjoy has it's own characteristics...each it's own personality as it were.

There is that lil' piece of history with each gun so each gun is a GREAT gun.

Get a few Mosins and shoot....shoot....and shoot.

Oh yeah, don't forget to put a Kansas City Strip steak on the bayonet of the 91/30 or 44......two hundred round and it's medium rare (turn over after the first hundred rounds, ).

Hey Ox, FWIW, while you can find them at Cabelas, they are usually asking 2-3 times what they are actually worth. I stopped at the new Cabelas in Hamburg,Pa. last week and they had a very poorly sporterized Chinese model 53 (same gun, different country) in NRA "poor to fair" cond. for $109.00 and a few military originals for $129.00 In comparison, I paid the same price($109.00) for my unnisued laminated Russian M-44 with 20 rds of ammo and it was overpriced! One plus to the M/N's is the price and variety of ammo available. You can go from $38.00/440 rds of milsurp Russian/Albanian to a variety of cheap Russian commercial (Wolf, Barnaul, Silver Bear, etc.) to good stuff like Wolf match ($12/13), S&B match ($15/16), Black Hills match ($25.00) and Norma ($30.00+).
