| Senior Member ![]() | Very tasty If they are large enough. they can be filleted. (I'd fillet the size posted if caught in numbers of 50+) Keep in mind thay have a pretty big rib cage. Even a large 'gill will produce a smallish fillet. I like to de-scale them ( an old spoon works good), cut the head off, gut 'em, bread them in corn meal and fry them up. Good pickin's:right: Crappie are just a bit different than bluegills. Still the panfish family. You get bigger fillets from crappie due to the less than obtrusive rib cage. There were alot of channel cats going in the basket this weekend too. I couldn't fish for them much, too slow for my daughter, she needs action, action, action!

| Nice fish Jerry! I just got home from 3 days camping and boating at Parker Canyon. Had an awesome time but didnt catch a single fish. Not many people did. Beautiful weekend for a few days on the lake....fish or no fish. Last edited by Snakebite; 05-02-2004 at 09:35 PM. |
