somewhat makes sense.
The supply chain works that way for about everything though.
We broke a 1/4 " drive ratchet in our tool box. We had to send for one FED X from our base to repalce it. They had trouble getting one there so sent us a "slightly" used on from another tool box . It wasn't much better.

Nope, couldn't just go buy one to use. Get caught with a UA tool and face ART-15 charges.

Just the way the gubment works.

I have never heard of the brand of mags that the Marine Corps issue for the Beretta. Than's a dang shame that the soldiers are having to put up with that.

That vest won't help him if he get hit with a rifle round...except maybe if it hits the trauma plate. But, anything is better than nothing.

we know it won't stop a rifle but it will give him one layer to add to his survivability if hit by something -- he says he has been fit for his vest and already has the official one on the way and will most likely wear a double layer with the 3a under his shirt.

Jerry you know the system would it be advisable to send the following in care packages to our guys I am sure we can get brownells to give us a break on springs

BERETTA 92
Stock Number / Desc Price
969-740-710 +10%, one each $7.49
969-740-730+10%, 3-pak $17.29

It could be done.
1) Customs: Sanatize the packaging, & call it what it is "spring(s)"

2) Need: This could be an isolated incedent. A person would have to identify a true need from a real living breathing person. I seen tons of care packages rifled through and no one really knew what was in the box. If they got thrown in the glove box of some truck and not used, it wouldn't do much good. My recomendation would be to find someone at a unit stateside, like a CATM person who knows what thier guys need. We had things sent all the time. I doubt seriously if the military would officially sponsor such a thing. Just about anyhting not done through propper channels is taboo.

3) Participation: If one spring saves one life it's worth it. If we know springs are going to a truly good known source where they will get some use, I think a few here may play. I'd be in for a spring or three.

4)Follow up: It would be great to get some feedback on how it worked out.

Why did the Pentagon start using the M-16? If it's such a bad rifle, why are they still using it?
