He was a great President, a great patriot and a great man. He was my Commander-in-Chief and I can still hear the Evil Empire statement in my mind. Spot on truth. He and the Bush's are the ony Presidents I've had any respect for. I will miss him, he was a great American.

He brought us all together.....all The liberals at the time became a tiny marginalized group He brought us through the perlious cold war with the Soviets He held fast when we stood at the brink of World annialiation. and we won because of him. He brought us through the worst economic recession since the great depression. Trickel down economics worked, he cut taxes and raised revenues. Every one on the face of the earth knew that when he said "We will respond to any attack on our citizens anywhere in the world" He meant it. He loved all of us like a father. The Iranians knew, they released the hostages the minute the very minute that Reagan took office. I feel honored to have lived in his time. His long "sunset" is finally over. His race is run, he can now have a well deserved rest. Today President Ronald Reagan slipped the surley bonds of earth and reached up to touch the face of God. He is there now waiting for us all to join him some day in that shineing city on the hill.

It was his presidency that got me really interested in politics. That may have been a curse. I really miss him. Girl friend can't stand him and says that he had Alzheimer when in office. Looking back on some the stuff they have been showing, maybe the beginnings were there near the end of his second term. But he had done so much good before that disease started that he will always be one of the great presidents in my life time. God Bless President Reagan. Truly an American Hero.

I'm probably the youngest guy out there who still remembers him and the Cold War that he brought to an end. I honestly feel proud at this time, not really sad, but honored to be someone who remembers him. It's like a heroe's goodbye, a time to give thanks and be strong for the future.

Jesse could you make this thread a sticky since we will be talking about it all week. Even though I was a kid when Reagan was in office he earned my respect for how he handled every situation. After Looking back upon all the presdents that have been around for my generation I have to say the man was one of the greatest. If they added another face to Rushmore I would say add Reagan's. Reagan was one of those few that had the foresight to see the changes this country would experience. He will always be remembered as the greatest in my book.

| More than that Quote:
My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Reagan, I cannot possibly know what she is going through right now. The world is truly a darker place today. Though I resist dwelling on the darker aspect of his passing, I choose to remember the positives. How can you not like the man who is the leader of the most powerful country on the planet, coming out to a press conference saying that he has just signed legislation outlawing the Soviet Union, we begin bombing in 5 minutes! Man I can still hear the fecal matter hitting the floor when he said that!!! The Russians had to wet themselves!!! Or a guy who comes out and does what's in the attached picture and says, "I always wanted to do that." There are so many positive memories and quotes that it would take hours to list them all......

I was too young to have voted for him in either election. Listened to his address to the 1992 Republican convention - seemed pretty sharp for that one - but then he had lots of time to get ready for it. You listen to his campaign speeches during 1980 and 1984 and you understand how he presented optimism to the American people. In contrast today's advertisements are bland as can be or start off by calling their estimed collegue and lying SOS.
