Unhappy more sad news.....

I found this on my web page's news page.

Sad News For Radio Host Rush Limbaugh
Rush Limbaugh, who has risen to fame and fortune as a conservative radio commentator, has announced that he and his wife, Marta, are divorcing after a 10-year marriage, reports The Associated Press.

Limbaugh's publicist said in a prepared statement that the couple "mutually decided to end their marriage of 10 years" and have "separated pending an amicable resolution." It was the third marriage for both Rush and Marta, who married on May 27, 1994 at the Virginia home of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Thomas conducted the ceremony.

The Limbaughs lived lavishly in a $24 million oceanfront mansion in Palm Beach, Fla. But life has been difficult politically and socially for Rush during the past year, highlighted by his announcement in October that he was entering drug rehabilitation for addiction to prescription painkillers. In addition, AP notes that West Palm Beach prosecutors announced they were investigating whether Limbaugh illegally went "doctor shopping" to obtain the pills. That is, he was being investigated for visiting several doctors to receive duplicate prescriptions of controlled narcotics. Limbaugh has not been charged with any crime and continues to actively fight the charges.

For a 24 million dollar oceanfront mansion, I'll marry him.

Rush Limbaugh is a blowhard and a hypocrite. He has passed his opinion off as fact to an ocean of gullible dittoheads. I enjoyed watching him when he first came on the air, but shortly grew tired of his fallacious logic and bullyragging.

While it is too bad that his marriage has fallen apart, I'm not surprised. I hope he stays sober through all this.

I think it is very sad. I know, because he is a target, someone has to be the bad guy. I am glad Rush is able to get rid of her with little fan-fair and quietly. But, the liberal press can hardly wait to drag him over the coals. Mr. K, I cannot agree with your comments. I watched and listened to Rush with awe and tremendous elation as he ripped the flesh from the bones of the liberals! God, I loved it. I reveled in the carnage left in the wake of his comments for not once was he ever wrong! I've read both his books and found them to be accurate and telling, even today. The thing I found most telling was he always had a sound bite or vid to back up his charges! Unlike most liberals who just shout thier opponents down because they have nothing cogent to offer to the debate. However, I do have one bone to pick with Rush. That is: "Rush, why did you abandon your TV show when we needed you?" I think the demis of the TV show helped to allow the vile klintonista into power....and well, the rest is history. Rush, I wish you the best. Good riddance to that 'hoe! With your bombastic mannerisums and your cash, you;ll replace that slut in no time at all. And, I can assure you, you'll be better off and, that 'hoe will regret her actions, trust me!

The way Rush would back up his points with a sound bite or video was right out of the old propaganda spin cycle.
Rush Limbaugh, to my knowledge, has never really gone toe to to with anyone in a public debate. He's one of those yellers too. Some friends of mine got a chance to meet him at fundraiser and found him to be wanting on a variety of levels.

You can enjoy the show. He is an entertainer and nothing more.

FYI, it's not nice to talk about a woman you have never met like you do.

Well, seems to be differeing opinions about him. Hmm, whoda thunk it. I remember listening to him when I was to young to really follow politics, and he made sense then and still does now. So he's human. Ain't we all? You can say what you want about him, but we need a conservative to balance the liberals. I hope everything works out for him.

How is having a sound bit back up your position the "old propaganda spin cycle"? He is using soundbites of actual speeches, not making them up or splicing them (ala Micheal Moore). It makes sense to back up your position if you can. And he always could.

Nothing is wrong with backing up your postition with actual quotes but Limbaugh is just as guilty of taking things out of context as Michael Moore.

He has a real talent for cherry picking his information.

On a personal note, I do not envy his life one iota.
