43rd. Wedding Anniversary Today

Woke up this morning and my bride had a package and card lying on the bed. Asked her what for and she said, "It's our 43rd anniversary!" Man am I in the doghouse now. That's gonna cost me later, I'm sure. Gotta figure out how to smooth that over.

We went out for dinner this evening and tomorrow I'll try to think of a gift which she'll appreciate. You guys don't want to follow my example or you'll never make it past "any number below 43." :uzi:

Not married so I don't have to worry about the fauxpas. She'll get over it.

Talking

...and those 43 years have all been to the same woman.

There's been stages.

-before kids
-with kids
-raising kids
-educating kids
-after kids leave
-after kids were married
-after 3 grandkids arrived
-after retirement
-rediscovery of hobbies
-trying to figure out who that strange woman is whom I've lived with all those years
-dragging, kicking and screaming as I'm hauled off to some nut house.

Papa G...dont' have a dog right now. But my dog house is my workshop. When she's on the warhorse I cower down in the farthest dark corner I can find in my shop with a pacifier in hand.

That means I fix a mixed drink and say to heck with her...but...I can expect no more sex for another year. Hey...I might of had my last sex for eternity last year. That's a terrible thought. :guitar: :smash:

Ok...here's the plan. Tonight I'm taking my wife to The New Theater here in Kansas City to see, Barefoot in the Park. That's what she really likes to do I'm hoping that will substitute for being so forgetful. She'll like that production. It's a comedy about the trials and tribulations of a young couple who move into their first apartment, which is located on the fifth floor. From what I've read, not much of anything goes right. Furniture doesn't fit, wrong colors, bed too big, and on and on.

Mainly, I'm looking forward to a good meal...and to get out of the dog house.

Flowers would have been cheaper. Cost me over $100 for this evening. Just arrived home. Had a good time watching the characters in this production work out their 1st maritial problems. Food was good and the dog house door is closed for now.

About once a year we make it to The New Theater. That occurs when she catches me in a weak moment or I owe her something.

Toolman...one of the biggest and most active organs that a man has is his brain. When it goes, and someone mentions the word sex...and you say "what? what's that?", that's when you're really in trouble.

Now what were we talking about? :jaw:
