Freedom Movement

http://www.javelinpress.com/free_state_wyoming.html

This is an interesting movement started By Kenneth Royce calling for a massive influx of Libertarian minded people to Wyoming. Their goal is to set up a Libertarian local, state, and federally represented government.

I thought this strategy would work in New England years ago, but now Wyoming is the main thrust.

Something like this was tried by the Libertarians in New Hampshire a few years ago. For some reason they must be changeing the local. Also there is a similar Christian movement in South Carolina.

Sniper is right, it would have to be made up primarily of independently wealthy citizens, I couldn't see the common working man loading up the mini-van and heading out. No matter how good the idea.

Well, on second thought, the Amish do it, why not.

Libertarians seem a lot like yankees to me. They seem to think that if they take over a State then it becomes a free State. They don't know what a free State is. A free State is a State which is governed by the people of that State. If a minority group of libertarian activists took over a State, it would not be a free State, it would just be a libertarian State.

Well they would have to build there minority into a majority for this to work anyways. Thats why a choice like Montana would make more sense the a large population state on the east coast.

I'm not sure if that's right ... even if everyone voted, in a three party system it could be as little as 34% that elect ... and with only half the people voting, I am thinking that 15% to 20% of the people could elect the rep.

And I don't the libertarians can win over a majority. I think this is there frustration, and so they hope to take over a State as a minority. Maybe I'm confused but that's how I am looking at it.

Even with all the problems possible, it's not such a bad idea. Look at the mess we have now! Heck, it's almost communisum now! A couple more years of Klinton and "Presto!"
