U.S.'s new border patrol uniforms are rubbing some the

From Grassfire.net

According to Washington Times reporter, Jerry Seper, the
U.S.'s new border patrol uniforms are rubbing some the
wrong way--especially since they all carry the tag
"Made in Mexico."

"I'm embarrassed, not only as a Border Patrol agent but as an
American citizen," said Joseph N. Dassaro, president of the
National Border Patrol Council in San Diego.

According to the Times report Dassaro and others are livid that
our government would outsource the uniforms with little or no
regard to safety and security issues. Already, more than $30
million new uniforms have been ordered.

"What system is in place to ensure that these uniforms are not
stolen en masse or sold outright in Mexico to be used by
terrorists, alien smugglers or drug dealers?"

In the wake of 9-11, and the creation of Homeland Security to
protect the citizens of our nation, it would certainly seem that
Dassaro and others have a valid concern--especially considering
the high volume of cargo that is routinely hijacked along the
Mexican/America border.

This uniform issue is just one more reason why Americans should
be concerned for their safety when it comes to securing our
borders.

+ + 71,000 Citizens want our borders secured

Since launching our national "Secure our Borders" effort, we've
focused on different aspects of the illegal alien problem, always
urging citizens to take action and voice their concern with us.

To date we have more than 71,000 citizens who support our
initiative, on our way to presenting 100,000 signatures to key
leaders in Washington.

+ + Alert your friends!

This is a critical issue that left unchecked will only escalate into
catastrophe. That's why we are asking for your help in alerting
friends, family, and co-workers urging them to add their name in
support of this effort by clicking on the link:

http://www.grassfire.org/42/petition.asp?PID=5599815

Securing our borders is a common sense approach to keeping our
citizens safe. Please help Grassfire rally the support we need to
take your voice to those in Washington who can make a difference!

P.S: Just as soon as we reach 100,000 total petitions nationwide,
Grassfire will take the steps necessary to get your petitions into
the hands of our leadership--including Homeland Security. Take
action today by forwarding this message to your friends.

I agree with Bush on this one, outsourcing is a good thing for America. We are developing markets where there were none before.
Since we all like cheap food, cheap clothes, cheap gas, and cheap taxes; outsourcing is important to our economy.

By the way, uniforms shirts were the only thing made in Mexico. If you think this makes our borders weak, please, take a tablet. Outsourcing is creating jobs in Mexico.
Of course, we pay them almost nothing, but; that will change as the work force becomes more oganized.

It stinks for the unskilled laborer in the USA who lost their job. God willing they'll be able to find another thankless job.

I'm unimpressed with out sourceing. I think Papa G is correct. All this will come home to bite us on our behinds. Then, the profit takers will have no one to profit from. I remember real quality...it did not cost that much more.

It's not the Border Patrol Uniform. It is the shirt which is probably just a uniform shirt.

Papa G is incorrect regarding global economics.
