Thumbs up Florida passes three good bills . . .

Rave, Doglips - this will interest you as much as it did me! Got this in the Education Commisioner's E-mail to the worker bees.

The Florida Legislature passed three good ones this week.

1. Parental Notification of their daughter wanting an abortion

2. Affirmation of our Federal and State Constitutional rights to own guns, and restricting registration to a relative minimum.
The bill protects the rights of individuals to bear arms and protects the privacy rights of firearm owners. The bill prohibits any state, regional, local governmental entity, or private persons and entities from keeping any list, record, or registry of privately owned firearms or of gun owners. A violation of the prohibition is a third degree felony.

3. Unemployment Compensation for military spouses.

The story:

Thank goodness for a Republican State Guvmint!!

Big Dog, question....How do we get the fed to not keep records of new gun purchases? They say they don't but, do you really believe that's true? Especially, when there is no way to enforce or check on them! Remember, this law is just a feel good thing, new gun purchases are federal. I just thought, not to bust your bubble, but, it should be mentioned, the fed is who is called when you buy a new toy.

Good point, Ruf! Who watches the Watchers? And Big Brother has been watching us more than ever lately.
Still, Florida is better than many states regarding firearm ownership.
Jeb isn't perfect (he's PO'd a lot of us State employees!) but he isn't trying to disarm us like so many liberal Governors.

Yes, Jeb ain't so bad. But, the liberals hate him and that train thing and school class rooms have the pile in an uproar. I kinda fear that someone might mention the state income tax, again. If that should ever pass, this would be a third world state for sure. With the low wages, adding another big tax would kill most of us. Just what you wanted to hear, right? That money has to come from somewhere....

The train, class room size, all that crap was stirred up by the Democrats to make Bush look bad and of course the stupid voter, who was also kept in the dark of how it worked when tried elsewhere, failed, voted for it.
Now that the original hoopla is over and clearer heads are thinking it will probably be voted on again, hopefully to loose this time.
Florida is a good, low tax state and we hope it will remain so.
In the mean time there may be more pretty states, higer paying jobs, but when you aren't being robbed by the tax man and have many personal freedoms including generious gun laws, and by the way Florida has no laws against swithblades,I feel we have one of the best states for folks to live in,we like it and although we had planned to leave a long time ago we have come to our sences and are staying, unless,of course, the liberals win sometime in the futurwe and make this as bad as many other states.
Viva Florida!
