Vice President is a swear bird!

I read with great interest the recent political move Dick Cheney made on the Senate floor. What grace! Not since high school have I seen such foolishness.
Of course, before all you step up and say "Well, I think its great and stuff that Cheney really told that guy off and put his liberal butt in its place!"
Remember this: Dick Cheney has been around since Ford. He is a political animal and knows the implications are of his actions. He was trying to make points with the bubbas of the world. Chances are it worked.

Everyone has a temper, and I lose mine too sometimes. The last time I spoke to someone like that, I apoligized. It's not the way I like to be thought of as a person.

He's glad he did it and felt better afterwards.

I'm sorry, but that's not a very nice thing to do. If any of your children tell you to go "blankity" yourself, don't get too angry because our Vice President says it makes you feel good. Honor and integrity my foot.
What a dolt.

Pure politics plain and simple.

Feel free to defend and attack as you see fit.

With no disrespect meant, where do you live that you haven't heard that word used since high school? Adults around here use it all the time. I'm not saying it's right, but it happens way too often.

It's not that my ears have never heard those words. Heck, I've even said it. Where I take exception is where he said it and his attitude afterwards. You don't do that on the Senate floor and think it's okay. It's disrespectful to the other Senators and to the United States. The Senate floor is not a locker room.
He knew what the repercussions would be when he did it. In an election year, everything is intended.
The fact that W has no problem with it speaks volumes about who he is trying to appeal to.

If someone said that to Cheney, this place would be up in arms about it. Of course some geezer would chime in that the liberal media would make sure that the whole thing was buried.

That language is not tolerated here in the interest of civil discourse and it holds true in the Capitol building.

I don't think it should be used. I find the word offensive. However, if one is to criticize Cheney for such language, one should be consistent and criticize anyone, Republican, Democrat, or Independent, who uses it. If I'm not mistaken, Cheney used it because he was insulted. How come no one is criticizing the guy who insulted Cheney?

Because the guy who was arguing with Cheney didn't resort to profanity to make his point.
I don't care about the profanity as much as I do about the calculation of it all. it's another attempt of these millionares to appear like "just folks" and "straight talkers".

I'm going to have to agree here. A man of his position and the place it was said does not say much of him. He should of handled it differently.

No, he shouldn't have said it. However I don't believe that he purposely chose those words. I think they're words that came from anger. Otherwise, he wouldn't have said it knowing there was much to lose from it. I do agree, however, that he should apologize for it.

BIAS alert....

Everyone whined and B!tched because Clinton made Oral Sex a household term. Regardless of whether the man deserved it you should not conduct yourself in such a manner in public. Do you think I want to tell my son what they bleeped out on the evening news?

VP is wrong folks. Conduct yourself like a gentleman. This was a stupid move.

I could give a rats !!! what Cheney said to Lehey. It was said when the senate was not in session. It was not caught on tape the only reason we know about it is people who were there decided to make a big deal out of it including Lehey. Some one was once beat on with a cane in the Senate chambers so in the grand scheme of things Cheney telling Lehey to go f his two faced self is small potatoes.

I can't believe that Shrike and I actually see eye to eye.

Civillians getting beheaded in the Middle East and all our news and gov't can do is make a big deal over verbage. Reminds me of a debate over a fuggin' shape of a table in the late 60's.

Table shapes can really change the flow of a room. I'm sure you would prefer the four square sides, but what if you lived in a plastic egg or were married to my wife who is designing our new house? What then?

Appearantly, table shape and size is a very, very, important issue. So is what kind of shower fixtures and kitchen cabinet placement.

I just want my gun room, everything else is noise.

only in a democrat mind could swearing on the senate floor be wrong and having oral sex with an intern in your care in the white house with your wife a few doors down be no big deal

These guys are all human. Man, the stories history could tell before modern media techniques.

I'm willing to bet there were some real knock down drag outs through the course of history.

They have gotten us this far. Just let them hash it out I say.
