Wrong Button

I predict if those nitwits kill that Marine, it will be bad news for them. Already Iraqis are starting to want the outsiders out of their country. When I say outsiders, I mean the folks from Al Queda and whatnot. They are losing popularity.

Well it might trigger a major crackdown in the Sunni Triangle which is long overdue. The Shites are passified after AL Sadr's militia had its azz handed to it and the Kurds have been playin ball from the get go. Its time to put the hurt on full blast in the remaining trouble areas full bore. I suspect we might wait until the interm government takes over. That way when they give the greenlight for the operations its harder for rest of the world to critisize.

I hope this Marine does not have to die to get the troop riled up. I think a change in tactics is over due here.

I don't know but I want to throw this out and get some feed back from the rest of ya'll. Over the last few days we have talked about "Black" Jack Pershing and what he did in the Philipino war against the Muslims. My question is, is what he did then a truely viable option today in curbing the tide against these people? Or would it turn against us?

Thumbs up

That could be what'll happen. The U.S. seems to be doing everything possible to move dead ahead on turning over Iraq on the 30th. It'll be really interesting to see what our armed forces are expected to do after that date.

The tension among our military personnel must be almost unbearable not knowing if/when/what they'll be doing after that date...and when they'll get to come home. My prayers are for their safe return home for sure. Then let the Iraq people deal with their own problems.

While what doing what black jack Persin did would feel really good ultimately it could be self defeating. Remember we do not want this to be a war against all Muslims. Only the radical ones. If we engage in those tactics we run the risk of enrageing all Muslims and there are 1 billion of them. In the Phillipines you had a Christian Majority behind you and a Muslim minority opposing you. In Iraq you have a Christian population of about 2% and everyone else is Muslim. Different situations call for different tactics.
