| I am finally home...
The last couple of posts from me came from my sisters AO hell computer as I just got back from 5 days back home. Stayed at Moms for 2 nights and my sis for the other two nights. 5 days and 4 nights in Milwaukee with family. At Mom's today we went through some boxes of dad's stuff and I found all kinds of interesting stuff, notably his Honorable discharge and service papers/cards and Dog tags! I also found a bunch of paperwork regarding what I think is his unit. It will be much easier to track down Dad's service record now I'll bet! I also found a GI issue belt shovel with it's belt pack, a GI sewing Kit and a slew of Marine Corps emblems/hat/lapel pins etc...I also found a Marine, first division pin, a blue Diamond with a big red #1 and some stars around it... The shovel may be Nam era, or later and the sewing kit appears to be Korean era. I also found a Veitnam Campaign Medal/Ribbon which is sorta odd as Dad was not in the service during Nam... Also some other items of Dad's that were of interest to me. I'll post some pics as I have time to take em. I will need help identifying the age of some items etc... Later dudes, I'm wiped out....

Dang, I guess the G&G Search&Rescue Brigade has to stand down . . . No telling where your father got some of the goodies. I've been collecting military-oriented stuff for years - away from the stuff from my own service years. Got some from friends, some from catalogs or Army/Navy stores, etc. A friend at work gave me a USAF Air Police badge he found in a dumpster!

| True...
The Nam Medal is in it's original presentation box, still wrapped in celophane.... The description on the side of the box tells what it be... I'll try and post some pics asap...
