| Amount you take to a Gun Show?
I was just wondering what amount of money do yall bring when going to a gun show? And do yall know a minimum amount to take, like if you want to go but not buy anything fancy but just want to buy some type of firearm, how much would you need to bring? P.S. I didn't know where to post this so I picked here |

Well when I was going to gun shows I would only take the amount I would allow myself to spend if I was shopping -- of course since I got my C&R I don't bother because I can get better prices online

Good as spot as any. I usually have a specific weapon in mind and take the amount of cash + 10% that it should take to buy it. The 10% will hopefuly cover a weapon of that type in better then average shape or accessories.

Man you guys have more money than me! I scrape together whatever I have lying around. I usually try to hold back a couple hundred a month between shows. Provided I don't blow it on something in between shows that works pretty well. As to a minimum amount, it depends on what you are looking for. You can get some decent guns at a reasonable price. For example, two shows back I got an SKS for $115. Not the best gun at the show, but a good plinker that will take of business in a pinch. If you have $500 - $700, you can afford 75% of what you will see. Best advice, take what you have. So long as you have the price of admision, it is worth going! |

Haven't been to a gun show in 10 years. The local one always falls on the first weekend of whatever month, when drill is going on

I used to take my checkbook, which was my bane as much as any credit card. Now I know how to get better deals than at gun shows, but if I'm realy compelled, I'll take cash out of the machine if that's enough, or make a deposit to pick it up later. One gun show a couple years back I sold a gun and took a check, so I put a deposit on my M1 and picked it up when the check for the other gun cleared.

Down here, four hundred covers my needs for one show pretty well. It'll get me a good classic .22LR to add to my growing collection - $150 to $300 depending on make&model, or I'll get a couple decent milsurps and some ammo for them. Once I've got a gun or two, the rest goes for ammo - gotta stock up on something usually. There's been times when the show hasn't been worth the price of admission - and that's five greenbacks and free parking here! Hate to have to wade thru the yokels buying the beef jerky and ogling the pot-metal swords . . .

At my gun show they dont allow food to be sold at tables. Cryin shame, cause I'd have some to offer that would drive the authorized food vendor out of business.

Colt45, please don't tell me you eat the "Used-Car-Salesman" hotdogs! A half hour after, you're selling Buicks to Ralph! No matter how much I spend, I save a fiver for a combo at Wendy's. We have a gunshow coming up in two weeks. I'll finally have some "disposable income" this time. Had to skip the last couple shows. Gotta stock up on that nifty Aguila .22 ammo from Mexico - love that stuff! I'll be checking out a .38/.357 lever-action rifle too. My buddy got one a few shows back - neat gun! It'll go well with my lil' Henry . . .
