Unfortunately, that'll probably be the case no matter who you date.

If the relationship with a future mother-in-law isn't good when you're dating...then it's not likely that it'll get better when you're in her family officially.

Mother-in-law jokes are at least 51 % true. :right:

I can agree with that...but once I realized I talked to the mother more than the actual daughter I was dating...I had to look who I really was in the relationship with.

Luckily being 8 hours away from my mom most of the year keeps her out of my personal life. She doesn't like anybody I see.

Went to Kutztown Folk Festival. After attending everybody else's ethnic/heritage festivals over the years, it was nice to attend one of my own ethnicity. Enjoyed it so much I went the weekend before when SRX was there.

Do you live in that area?

It's my heritage too. My paternal grandfather's family is from around there. They immigrated there from Germany maybe two centuries ago.

I have to say though I am not a big fan of the food. Dad loves it though.

I live in Bethlehem, work in Reading and camp at Sacony Campgrounds outside Kutztown (my next door neighbor owns it).

My fathers family settled just outside kutztown around 1750 and ended up in Dryville and Pricetown. What's not to like about the food? None of it is any good for you but tastes sooooooo good, just like food is supposed to be. Sausage, brotwurst, ox and pig roast, funnelcake, apple dumplings in milk, yum. I can feel my arteries clogging up as I write.

LOL As I said, Dad is the only one who likes the food. However, he already suffered one heart attack, so we have to be careful that he doesn't have a second.

Anyway, you can be assured I DID NOT watch Harry Potter or the Mighty Morphine Power Rangers (or who ever they are), lol, lol.

Bro-in-law and I went and warmed up the Springfield Remington 1903A3s and the Russian SKS.

I have this aversion to NOT getting out on the highway being full of idjets. Just about every holiday we stay home any more.

One of these days, either for Thanksgiving, New Years, or the 4th, I am going to grab friends, and fight the crowds in NYC. I used to work for Macy's so it would be great to watch their fireworks or their Thanksgiving Parade.
