I don't cook. I clean my stuff, do only my laundry, etc. When I get married and have children (when I take a break from work), then I will do all that. Otherwise, my husband and I will share the load, or he can hit the road.

As you become older and mature it does not mean that you have to fall into that "social rule" that one has to become married.

I believe we all know what's meant by traditional marriage values, as mentioned previously. And I'm probably more of a traditionalist. But, I believe there's something good that could be gained by living with a person of the opposite sex before marriage.

Granted, the female would be putting herself in a much more vunerable position than the male in our society. And that very careful selection of the partner should be done after much consideration...and maybe even after being engaged.

My point is that most married couples do not learn of the true compatibility or interest in sex by their partner "until" they were married. That's hard to judge when you're young and your sexual glands are highly active. As the years go by this incompatibility can be a big issue resulting in all kinds of maritial problems, sometimes resulting in one partner or the other seeking other partners to fulfill their sexual needs. Plenty of divorces have occured over this issue.

As Shaun said, hold on to your own values because you have to live with the results. There's no backing up from being involved in the "first time." After that...what are you saving?
