Well I have decided to try some new things this coming weekend

Sat. I am going over to the local small airport and meeting with a flight instructor for my introduction flight through www.beapilot.com . I have wondered about this for years and have operated just about everything else except a plane - (Everything includes; Heavy Equip., Tractor trailors, cars, motor cycles, boats, small and light machinery) -- I have always thought this might be fun and it would allow me to get to NASCAR Races easier and then I could plan quick hunting trips to area's where it would take more than a day to drive too.

I contacted the local USPSA club and they invited me to come out to the local competition on Sunday to check out the club. I am figuring that it is a good opportunity to introduce her to firearms in a positive manner. Plus I get to shoot comptetively again.

In the early 80's I took the ground school program and passed with flying colors. Never did get any air time. The FAA test was one of the hardest tests I have ever taken.

Still active around airplanes. My avatar is from when I was doing pyrotechnis with the Confederate Airforce in TX. Memember of EAA and hope to build my own plane someday. And have help restore an N3N, which is the Navy's model of the Stearman Bi-plane.

You'll get a kick out of it. It takes a lot of commitment to fly good and stay on top of it. Enjoy.

I picked up my fixed wing single engine license back in 1980.

I loved to fly but it got to the point that renting an aircraft and paying for the fuel quickly got more expensive than I could comfortably afford.

Even trying to get a couple or three more to pitch in on a trip got to be a real pain in the butt.

So, slowly, I quit flying. Too, I doubt if I could pass the Flight Surgeon's physical as well as I used to.

So, Shaun, it sounds almost like you are planning on buying your own lil set up?

I wish you well and I want to hear about your first stall manuever, lol.

I do believe that's the same plane that Sky King and daughter, Penny, flew.

Gawd, how I loved that girl!

Now, all you youngsters can ask...."Who was Sky King and Penny?" He he he he

TV series back in the 50's. Cowboys and Bad guys with airplanes. It was called an aerodynamic western. And to think we use to watched that simple minded stuff.

Talking "from out of the blue of the southern sskies, comes Sky Shaun"

Sky King had a Cessna twin radial in the first half of the series, loved that plane, then they switched to a Cessna 310.

ScottD....sure it was simple, but we were simple kids, with simple minds. i guess todays kids programing is better??? not, it sucks; my 9 year old is braindead from watching Cartoon Network.

If I buy one I have to make sure to get the rifle rack installed --the c45 will have to have the Canadian Marking scraped off --but it could haul many toys - wonder if I can get it donw in RealTree

I can't afford 40K right now and that would be about 6 -8 years out for me with the bear hunt taking priority --plus I have to get past single engine certification before instrument and duals.

My favorite is Murphy's SR3500 named the Moose. It'll take off on unimproved runways. Can someone say "Bush Plane".

Papa you have an eye about you. The SR3500 is designed by the same designer that designed the De Haviland Beaver. The SR3500 was, for a while, called the Baby Beaver, but opted for the Moose.

Did you see the carrying capacity on that Moose. What a pack horse.
