I just got the rifle and i shot it at a range and i could not belive how good it was.its very accurete and its not got much kick to it,FLAWLESS.i think its a pretty !!!! good rifle for 195$
Welcome to G&G! We High-point shooters are kind of rare here, nice to have another.
I have the 9mm Carbine myself, and hoping to get the .45 once it's available here.
I haven't warmed up to the .40 caliber cartridge yet - though I do like the .40 cal. FEG pistol my shooting budy has. The carbine and that pistol aould be a nice combination, if I do decide to expand into .40 caliber.
Are you using the iron sights? I have mine scoped (fixed 4X) and find it a great shooter - easy to handle and fairly accurate. It outshoots my M1 Carbine at any distance I shoot them.
HP & Big Dog, I am really considering the 9mm Carbine HP. I almost see the price as being too good to be true. Any quality issues? Accuracy with rifle sites consistant? Thanks for any feedback.
My 995 is really old and has never malfunctioned, I love it. Also have the C9 and love it also. There's only a couple of Hi point shooters around here - so welcome. I swear by them. Very inexpensive and very good quality.

yeah i thinking about gettin some cash together and buying the 9mm Carbine
Mine has been totally reliable - never misses a beat. It's like that silly bunny - just keeps going . . .
Mine does seem to prefer the Remington/UMC 115 grain JHP load for accuracy.
It functions well with the Winchester Value-Pack ammo, but shoots a bit larger group. The Winny load also clocks about 100 FPS slower thru the Chrony than the UMC.
It shoots well with the iron sights, but I prefer a scope. It wears a Chinese-made 4X32, and holds zero well. On a good day, it'll shoot consistent 2 inch groups at 50 yards - not bad for a cheap gun. It outshoots my M1 Carbine!
The magazine is very similar to typical single-stack 9mm pistol mags, but a bit longer being a ten-rounder. I eye-balled the mag from my 9mm Maadi Cadet and a Polish Radom pistol - dang, they are close! But too short - might work with an extender pad. But the Hi-point magazines are cheaper anyway.
I can't remember who, but someone recently told me to NEVER buy a HighPoint. To save my money and buy a better gun as they were junk. Claimed to know of a lot of malfunctions etc....
But in the same breath, they never have owned one.
I have had correspondence with the factory and they have always been very helpful and prompt.
When next I get to Milwaukee, I think one of the Gun Dealers there that has a range, who is also a HighPoint dealer, has one to rent to try.
Or if anyone comes up here this Oct, I will try one then.
I have to get a gun that goes for under 200 and has a lifetime warranty.
In rebuttal to the detractors, I have never heard of a KB, Failure to feed or Stovepiping from anyone who ACTUALLY owns a HighPoint.
My thought is to get a inexpensive and fun to shoot gun, once I see it is reliable it will become a carry gun.
Sniper, like you surmised, the detractors are almost always those who have never owned (or even shot) one. The Hi-point Carbine is in use with some police departments. It's a very light and handy little weapon - perfect for vehicle carry and use in a tight urban environment. Very reliable. It is advertised as being essentially "self-cleaning" - it doesn't gunk up like some guns. Rather like an AK - crude and simple, but tough and reliable too!
Best bang for the buck you can get.
Dang skippy! I've easily put 5K to 6K rounds through my 995 and not one mis-feed, jam nothing but reliability. They are a bit of a pain to clean at first. But after you get yerself aquainted with the gun it's not that big a deal. The C9 I have is proving to be the same type of gun, very reliable and well worth the money. Easily the best bang for the buck.
I've been thinking of going with the 40 carbine and getting a 40 pistola also. It'd be a nice compliment to the 9mm Hi Points I have.
