| Senior Member | Firearm Shipping I am planning to ship one of my contender pistols to Foxridge, the custom shop, to be modified for easier opening. What is the shipping service that allows a person to ship pistols? I know USPS is not an option. Thanks, Indy |

| Senior Member | Shaun is right about leaning towards Fedex. Even so, just be mentally prepared in case you encounter a gun phobic liberal clerk at the shipping counter. I live in Oklahoma and I still ran into a clerk once who was visibly shaken when I asked her to ship a pistol to the factory for repairs....after a lengthy debate and my demand to see her supervisor, she finally shipped the thing. I wonder if she'd ship a live snake...? |

| Senior Member | Thanks James, I suspect there are many uninformed clerks at these shipping companies. I remember a time when I had a shotgun in the backseat of my car while attending high school. After school we would go hunting. Today you would be a psycho shooter. We didn't shoot anyone or even threaten anyone. Why are kids different today? Indy |

| HMFIC ![]() | I was trying to ship off my paintball gun and the person about flipped out. I would order the stuff from the fedex site and just have them pick it up from your house or work place.

| Senior Member | I shipped some ammo by UPS, and finding out what to do in packaging it was the most difficult thing. At the main shipping office, the guy told me, "No problem, I ship ammo all the time, let me show you how to fill out the form, and I have the "ORM-D" and "Ground Service Only" paste ons, so don't worry about putting that on the box." It was easier than mailing a package of Christmas tree ornaments at USPS, besides it arrived at its destination unscathed and right on time. |

| Senior Member | Just gotta love that Big Brown Truck! Sounds like you have a mighty good man running your UPS shipping counter, Gyrene. Even though our UPS shipping clerk is a bit shakey, the driver of our local Big Brown Truck is terrific. She's a good woman and always grins while delivering "ORM-D" packages to my door. ![]() |

| Senior Member | I don't love the big brown truck (UPS)! That bunch of gun phobic jerks wouldn't even ship a mag for a .22 pistol a couple months back. Had to send via FedEx. I would go with FedEx over UPS. I don't know much about their new rival DHL. |

| Senior Member | I searched for a box that Super 14 contender plus two extra barrels would fit in. Finally, I went to one of the box centers that ships FedEx. I had wrapped the pistol and barrels in bubble wrap prior to arrival. The lady was real nice to me and after the box was ready and I had paid, she got around to asking what I was shipping. I told her a pistol and two barrels. She said, she would just call it a gift. I just smiled. Indy |
