You must be getting the smoke from the fire on Mt. Graham. Heres a picture of last years fire on Mt. Lemon taken from my front yard. There wasnt a cloud in the sky either. Its all smoke. Sure hope it isnt as bad at your house as it was at mine! |

Didn't you have a couple burning in SW NM,also? It wasn't two months ago some friends from Safford were up and we talked about how the Safford area was long overdue for a fire. But, with Safford actually down in the lowlands the city, itself, is safe from any incringement. The Willow fire is not too far from us but the wind blows from the SW so the smoke is not an effect yet. The fire up closer to Flagstaff had us ocncerned since it came very close to some high power lines that feed 70% of the Phoenix metro area. But, from what I heard the controlled it to keep the fire from reaching them thar 50,000 volt wires. 7MM, I predict serveral more wild fires before the season is over. It's the driest I've seen since I moved here in the very early 70s and I watched an idiot throw out a cigarette along the highway yesterday, in fact.
