| Senior Member | good CHEAP optics!...
i was cruising through kmart the other day looking for a playstation game my boy wanted (walmart didnt have it!) anyway since i was there i went to the outdoor dept to laugh at their junk! well there was a 3x9 scope with rings for a 22 for 20 bucks. so i bought it for some strange reason, and i is really quite nice! very clear sight picture! the only brand name on it was "northwest territories" ive never heard of em before but i was pleasantly surprised with its function! so whats the cheapest best optics yall ever bought?

watch www.grafs.com and check the clearance sale regularly -- they have some great deal on good scopes -- I bought a set of Nikon 6x24x50mm Bino's a few years back paid 150 for a $400 set

The cheapest I got was a Simmons for about $50. I paid about $49 too much for that scope. Absolutely horrible scope. I ordered a target scope for my .17HMR through Graffs and was very happy with it. Graffs had the lowest prices on optics and carry the good name brand stuff. |

The best prices on optics I've found are from Midsouth shooters. The best value in low price optics is the Bushnell Banner line. I have four of them that are performing as designed for multiple years, one 1.5X4.5 -20mm has been on my 12ga. sluggun for 12 years and still holds zero and is fog free. That gun has wrecked four scopes before I bought the Bushnell. www.midsouthshooters.com Actually I have no problem beating Graf's prices through several other outlets. I also had issues with their delivery times and backorders not being filled. Just me???????? I don't know.

I have found Clearview Investments to be a great place for scopes. For example, I got a Norinco 3X9X54 for $39.00! I know, it's a cheapie but, it's clear and I can see a bright picture! In low light, it does real good provided you don't try to magnify from the lowest point. But, all in all, not bad for the price. i got several 3X9X40 scopes for only $12.00 ea., because I bought five at once. I'm happy. Sure, i'd like the best but, money is hard to get!

I'm ususally well satisfied with Simmons and Bushnell. I've got several, and haven't had one break yet. Awhile back, I bought two 3-9X40 "Blaser" scopes (Chinese-made) that are clear and sharp, and hold zero well - for about $20 apiece. The catch? The windage knob is marked backwards! I just have to remember to adjust for "Light" and "Reft"!

I agree with Dave. For total order savings MidSouth is hard to beat. Sometimes SWAFA will have scope on close out that nobody can touch. As usual it all comes down to shopping and where to shop.

Blasers were made by the same factory making the cheaper Simmons line. Nowadays, "Blaser" is a model name for those cheaper Simmons scopes. I got mine at a gun show. One of my favorite Vendors always has the oddball ammo and accessories I like, scopes and such. We got a gunshow next weekend, so I'll be checking out his tables again. Come to think of it, I've gotten several good guns from him too - a Nagant M44 (unissued), a Swiss K31 and the Yugo SKS. I've been looking for a decent red dot sight, and he'll probably have what I want.

My Savage came stock with a 3-9 by 32 Simmons scope and it is the biggest piece of crap i have ever looked through. With an eye relief of about 1.5", you have to stretch so far you will break your neck. And it icys over so fast you can't even look at the deer.

there is no such thing as good cheap optics. they are either one or the other- either cheap, or good.

i bought a 3x9x40 tasco at wallyworld for about 40 bucks . i have no complaints yet . it holds a zero perfectly but my ar15 doesn't have a whole lot of recoil.so if you goin to mount it to a gun without alot of recoil the 3x9x40 tasco isn't that bad of a scope and price.and quality too!!!
