Front sight on Tomcat

Can anyone suggest a method for drifting the rear sight on a Tomcat without messing up the finish?

This is the 3rd one I have received with a poorly set sight and the previous two were a mess to adjust. Taking a brass drift to it was a good way to ruin a drift. The rear sights appear to be really hard to move.

Thanks!

go to brownells and buy a sight pushing tool --it clamps around the slide.
