| Super Moderator ![]() | How Your Senators Voted on the Marriage Amendment
here you go make your thoughts be known to your legistlators so this can get passed at some point -- we need to ban these marriage because next we will see people marrying their pets Wednesday, July 14, 2004 How Your Senators Voted on the Marriage Amendment Several senators crossed party lines in the vote today that sank the proposed constitutional amendment that would have limited marriage to one man and one woman. Three Democrats joined 45 Republicans in supporting the amendment, according to C-SPAN: Robert Byrd of West Virginia, lame duck Zell Miller of Georgia and Ben Nelson of Nebraska. Six Republicans joined 43 Democrats and pro-Democrat alleged "independent" Jim Jeffords of Vermont in opposing the proposal: lame duck Ben Nighthorse Campbell of Colorado, Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, John McCain of Arizona and John Sununu of New Hampshire. It seems the constantly AWOL John Kerry is having a bad influence on his running mate. Kerry and lame duck John Edwards were the only ones who couldn't bother to show their faces at work.
