Boxer outdoes rival in recent fund raising

U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer is continuing to raise substantially more campaign cash than Bill Jones, her Republican opponent in this year's Senate race, finance reports filed Thursday show.
Boxer's campaign brought in $2.9 million in the past three months, while Jones raised $1.9 million during that time. Boxer, a Democrat, has raised more than $14 million overall for this year's race, and has about $7 million of that left in her campaign account.

Jones, a former California secretary of state, has raised just under $4 million and has under $1 million left in the bank.

Earlier this week, Jones announced he would funnel $2 million of his own money into his campaign.
