My Tampa report after spending just one day and night there

In general a nice town. The drives over the bay have been beautiful. The Sunshine Skyway is something to see to say the least.

Busch Gardens was a good time although crowded. My daughter and I waited up to 90 minutes for some rides. My favorite part was the beer at the Busch Hospitality House.....IT WAS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Liss wore a bikini top and looked great standing on the bridge waiting to get saoked at the tidal wave thingy.

This next part is a cut and paste left for me by Rave to which I responded in the same....It comes from the thread called, "Another one nabbed..." or something like that.

Cut and paste begins here.....

From Rave
"Busch Gardens is all right, just don't go south on 40th st.or Nebraska Ave.,a lot of shooting and car jacking occures there.
At night at those locations you really put your life in in the hands of others.
Be forewarned,be alert and you will probably be OK."

1* responds......
LMAO......We stayed at the Comfort Suites at Nebraska and Busch....about a block off of IH275. Liss and I made a beer run at about 10:30pm and noticed that we were the only things not driving a low rider with low profile wheels and rims.

The clerk at the Stop & Rob was behind thick glass and was from some other country. She immediately announced to the folks behind us that I was a police officer! Good God I have never been so dang happy to have my Glock on me. Liss has her Glock 26 as well. Best thing I ever did was put her thru the CCW coarse.

1* Im sure as a LEO you are fimiler with several florida laws.....fist....think of the sapranos or other mob movie....in florida we have "Da Mouse" Micky wants your $$ and under florida law if you try to leave the state with any $$ or $$ left on your credit card....then the mouse has the cops take it and return it to "Da Mouse". No $$ leaves the state.

Florida Rule #2 Come on Vacation....leave on Probation.....return on violation

#3 IF you think thnings are bigger in Texas.....get a speeding ticket in Florida....we have not state income tax....so we got to pay for our goverment somehow...and rich tourist is just the thing

I paid $14.99 for a keychain with a pic of me and my daughter on a rollercoaster on it. Mickey won that battle.

1*...will you get on down to the Miami Beach area? I stayed there briefly after a cruise ship came back from the Bahama Islands where we spent some time at Nassua and the "Blue Lagoon" island partying.

Walking away from the hotel in Miami Beach, during daylight, was even an eye opener. Didn't see many gringo's. Mostly hispanic/cubans. I definitely would not have considered walking the same route during darkness. It seemed like being in another country, for sure. :right:

Regardless...glad that Liss had her B.B. pierced, if that's her thing. Now, when will you get your eyebrow(s) pierced? Or you thingy?

Have fun!

Ahha...no comment! I wouldn't answer either. But you can be assured nobody's punching any holes in me unless I'm unconscious.

Well we're basically done in Tampa other than flying out next week. We're way south of Sarasota now. Mom's house backs up to a private beach so we're just going to be haning out. Unfortunately it looks like we might have rain for the next two days....but so it goes in Florida. My tan is three shades darker than it was when I got here.

No, I won't be piercing anything.

Ox, I too took a cruise to Nassau out of Miami a few years ago. Biscayne Bay is beautiful. Had a good time in Nassau and Paradise Island while I was there and did wonders for the Bahamian beer economy.

1*...glad you're enjoying the vacation. Hope you're able to forget about work, and get caught up on a lot of relaxing activities. :right:

Speaking of rain...we(Kansas City area) had 3" of rain night before last, along with tornado's flying overhead. I think this was a Kansas tornado that escaped. Very little damages but warning sirens were going off from 3 a.m. till around 4 a.m.

Take care and enjoy the short time you have left on vacation.

Question

LMAO,glad you enjoyed your vacation and also sorry the weather messed up the last part,it happens that way down here,if you don't like the weather hang around 'till this afternoon,it will change.
Being armed does give one a sense of confidence and reassurance, doesn't it?
We hope you never have to use it as it can get a bit sticky, and I have found it to be unsetteling. I can't speak for all the folks out there, but it kind of shakes me up when confronted with the bugger and after taking care of business by using force, well it just takes a lot out of me even when the law doesn't get involved.
I have gotten a lot better at keeping out of trouble in my later years, but you never know when it will creep up on you or yours.
