I saw this in our local paper this morning and thought I would share it -- too bad she couldn't have got the second guy Man with long rap sheet killed during break-in A Nashville man with a long record of arrests was shot and killed early yesterday morning when he broke into a Nashville woman's Madison apartment, police said. Maurice Wilson Jr., 21, was fatally wounded shortly after he and at least one other person kicked in the apartment's back door at the Heritage House apartments on Heritage Drive, police spokesman Don Aaron said. He added that the woman, 18, and her cousin, 21, had responded to a knock on the door about 1:30 a.m. and saw two masked men. ''The two women retreated to an upstairs bedroom as the suspects kicked in the back door,'' Aaron said. ''As one of them came to the doorway of the bedroom where the two women were hiding, the older cousin, who had retrieved a pistol from a nightstand, fired one time. The intruder was hit and died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head.'' Police did not release the names of the women. The second intruder fired twice before fleeing, but neither woman was injured, Aaron said. Wilson was wearing a nylon stocking and blue bandanna over his face. Over the past three years he had been charged with 38 offenses including unlawful weapon possession, domestic as-sault and drug possession, Aaron said. — Warren Duzak

Great outcome! Musta been familiar enough with her gun to aim straight at his head. Glad she didn't get shot back by the other perp.

One less that Tennessee tax payers' dollars will would have had to try and support. I just hope that she (and her cousin) doesn't get rolled up in some legal BS where she becomes the tried and the intruder/potential killer becomes the victim. But, at any rate, she did the prudent and right thing to do, regardless. One shot........one kill! Carlos Hatchcock would be proud.

It is allways such a sad thing. reguardless of how justified or how necessary. When its all over ya allways regret it. its such a waste. That idiot lost his life for the concious decision he made to be an !!! hole. All the grand reasons of self defence and defence of the life of another can provide the solice that you know ya wont get prosacuted, and it gives a anser to the "why" question. Still most any reasonable person will grieve for the ones that they have slain. There is an emotional pattern of exilliration and then Understanding, Anger and then Grief and thats what ya get left with ....grief. To have to be thrust in to a situation of immediate mortal combat with a firearm against an intruder is not a easy or small thing, no matter how much ya think about it before hand. The woman that shot and killed that man will remember that forever. every day for the next few Months or even years she will be running the scenario through her head re liveing it over and over and over. she lived, she defended her home and her life good for her. It is a tradegey that she had to, that is part of life. This is the immutable truth that the anti Gun people do not want to face. Part of being human is that under certain circumstances we humans May have to fight and kill other humans. As repugnant as that is, it is Necessary. All the sensabilitys and accidents caused by the presence of lethal tools aside. it is part of human existance. No matter what.

Well, 38 other offenses, I'd say he's been a looser for a long time and deserved to be blasted many moons ago...too bad he had to wait so long to get his just deserts! Good going ladies!

The libs will be upset that they didn't just call 911 and wait like fish in a barrel. I'm sorry that they were forced into that situation but glad they had enough sense to defend themselve.
