Nuclear arms reportedly found in Iraq

Baghdad, Iraq, Jul. 21 (UPI) -- Iraqi security reportedly discovered three missiles carrying nuclear heads concealed in a concrete trench northwest of Baghdad, official sources said Wednesday.

The official daily al-Sabah quoted the sources as saying the missiles were discovered in trenches near the city of Tikrit, the hometown of ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

"The three missiles were discovered by chance when the Iraqi security forces captured former Baath party official Khoder al-Douri who revealed during interrogation the location of the missiles saying they carried nuclear heads," the sources said.

They pointed out that the missiles were actually discovered in the trenches lying under six meters of concrete and designed in a way to unable sophisticated sensors from discovering nuclear radiation.

The sources said al-Douri, who is related to former Vice Chairman of the Iraq Revolution Council and Saddam's right-hand man Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, was captured after Iraqi police intercepted an e-mail message in which he set a meeting with another former Baath official.

The report could not be authenticated by the interior ministry or the national security department, but the paper noted Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zibari made a surprise request recently to Mohammed el-Baradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to resume inspections for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

nope they will make sure they keep it quiet just like the 200 barrles of chemical weapons my budys son's unit found last week, and not one story on it yet.
BTW did anyone realize that our troops are no longer getting combat pay because the war is over? all they are getting is hazardous duty pay.
i found that a lil disheartning. his unit has been shelled every day since he got there, and fired on several times a day, but this isn't combat?
he keeps telling his Dad he wishes i was there, he says he can't remember all the stuff i tought him. but he said he's keeping his head down and never turns his back on a fire fight. (i told him once it was better to get it in the chest backing up than in the back running away) i told his dad to tell him to run fast backwards then. i didn't mean that to be in combat zone. Danm good kid, brave behound his years as are so meny over there. I wish i could go back and help him out, makes me proud he would remember something i tought him even in the heat of combat, makes me even prouder that he would think enough of me to wish i was there fighting with him.

But the article denies the missles. it says they weren't found, that it was a false report. I wonder though if there was an element of truth to the rumor though.

Me thinks it was a little too well timed, myself. Oh well, maybe next time. Sadly, it will be very hard to prove anything found now was not planted. The timeing just is too odd.....

If it is a possible nuke, its going to take time to verify, only trained experts can resolve that. Im sure if it is a possibility, thats not something anyone is going to get to close to for obvious reasons, and no info will come out untill they are sure
