Why do they keep discontinuing great guns?

So many things Remington has made that I'd love, but are not made anymore, or very often.

Like the Rem 7600 in 35 Whelen, only in limited runs.

And just today, I found that they produced a stainless detachable mag version in 300 Wby. And there's one on Gunsamerica for $630. If only this was a better time... I'm half tempted to sell something for it, but really can't justify it. If only they still produced it.

Personally I liked the Remington Nylon 66. Have a Apache Black and Mohawk Brown. Love em.

Same here, Flipzter! My 66's are good shooters - not great, but good.
Remington needs a good lower-priced rifle like the 66 again. They just don't have a .22 that appeals to me these days.
Mossberg too, no .22LR guns! (No, that new "plinkster" ain't a Mossberg!)
Great guns, fallen by the wayside.
The superb Winchester 75T - wonderful .22 rifle. Not as robust as the 52, but in a different class. Except for the 9422 and the odd run of 52 repros - no Winny .22's! Deplorable situation.
The old Ruger .44 Carbine - great gun. The newer "Deerslayer" is nice, but it just doesn't thrill me like the old gun.
We really need a good GI Spec, inexpensive M14 semi-auto rifle too. The SA is just too expensive for the common man.
The epitome of the .22LR target rifle - the BSA Martinis. I dearly love mine, and would like to see it produced again.

like LD said, because they were not profitable.

M-14 types are high because GI parts are getting scarce. shame you guys cannot latch on to a CHI/COM copy.

Remington came out with a new .22 kind of a companion to the 700. nice looking, but no inexpensive gun either.

answer: the G&G OLD FARTS GUN MAKERS. we copy the great oldies. singleshot .22's like we had as kids. Martini .22's to satisfy the sophisticated. top break pistols for me and NRAJOE

Thumbs up

As for more Remingtons. I'd like to see them bring back the cute little Model 51 pistol.

And howabout a nice stainless Remington Old Army cap&ball revolver strengthened to compete with the Ruger Old Army? The CAS guys would love that!

While Remington does let a few pass, they are getting into some promising new stuff.

The Rem 7615 is a law enforcement carbine in 223 Rem that uses AR-15 mags.

And the 700 SPS, a budget version of the 700 that retains all its virtues.

And a rugged all weather long action stainless version up to 375 RUM, called the XCR (no relation to Robarm's semi-auto)

And a single shot rifle version of their old XP-100 pistol, the XR-100 rifle in various 22 and sub 22 caliber centerfire rounds.
