well having eaten many mre's,i really dont think there would be much of a taste differance? hahaha the military has an obsession with urine...some early gas masks in europe during ww1 had to be urinated on for them to seal against your face.i believe they were french but im not sure now...but it wouldnt surprise me!

Common practice to get wound dressings wet if no water available. Imagine waking up with a sucking chest wound and your buddy taking a leak on you.

The will to survive live will cause people to do surprising things.......many of which are even surprising to them after the fact. History is full of people that have staved off death by extraordinary means...and some society as a whole condemns. As disgusting as it might seem to some, I'm sure there is a way technology can filter toxins out of urine to make it quite usable. Whirlwind.....you ain't never eaten C rats? MREs are gourmet compared to them....yepper....fer sure.

I'd do anything to stay alive, even drinking my own pee. But don't you have to boil it first before you can do that? And besides, I'm sure some of our school food tastes worst that that.

take this for what its worth considering where i heard it but i trained a field engineer from pakistan once , and she told me that the vice prez of india wakes up each morning and drinks a glass of his own urine. she said that they (hindu's) believe that the first mornings pee has some kind of special properties !

it's not the survival aspect that gets me. it's the fact that they are purposely trying to come up with this stuff.

SRX, I think they might be considering how to do it because in many areas your own fluids might be the only thing around. All factors considered in you have to input fluids to get fluids out and severe and prolonged dehydration mounts one final problem....no pee. BTW, SRX..........you'd not make it through week one of survival training, lol. And.....I'll only carry those that have the will to, at least, give it a try. LOL

another way the military is transfixed with our urine...my dad told me a story of when he was at the chosin reservoir, the m-1's they had would freeze so they urinated on the action to thaw em out then kept firing. and also ,when i was in the army i remember they said that if a soldier was in the field and came down with an infection or wound that caused him to have a elevated temp, that urinating on him was a quick way of reducing his temp without having to waste valuable water.

What if you have "performance anxiety" when it comes to urinating?

The space shuttle has a machine that purifies urine...so chemically this is amazing.
