i just heard it on the radio! YAY! i never could stand that punk im glad he lost...i wonder what buster douglas is doing now? the day he flattened tyson was one of the happiest days of my life
But he got back up. He needs to be knocked down forever.
Ali was the best boxer ever. Sure would be cool to see what Ali would do with this loser.
Ya think Tyson could beat Ali?
The primary reason Tyson was able to make a name for himself was that the great, great fighters like Ali and Liston had already made way for the next generation.
An Ali-Tyson fight would be disasterous for Tyson, I believe.

there used to be a computer program that matched up boxers, and animate the results. i think an Ali and Joe Louis was the featured event. it was on tv years ago and i missed it.
Tyson was good in the early days, but he had to put down his opponent in the first couple of rounds, he couldn't go the distance. thats how Buster Douglas won, wore him out on the rounds, then went for the KO.
im with ya guys...theres no way tyson in his prime could have even stood in the same ring with ali in his prime! i was never an ali fan but he did have it all! look at how tyson moved in the ring. he was like a bulldozer with a power punch...one trick pony. ali (like i said) had it all.
Ali WAS the greatest!
He certainly did have a big mouth and really ticked off the American public when he avoided the draft and changed his name from Cassius Clay to Mohammed Ali and claimed religious reasons for not going into the military.
He lost his heavyweight title for doing that but got it back. Twice.
Ali had style and grace in the ring. Tyson is a street fighter and looks like he should die in a robbery attempt. He just doesnt have any class at all.
Ali's punch was timed at 4/100's of a second. You arent going to see that one coming at you! Thats faster than I can drink a beer.
yup and his punches werent just fast, they hit hard too! and like i said thats an impartial opinion on my part cause as a human being i cant stand the man.i wouldnt give him the sweat off my b@@@'s if he was thirsting to death, but he was without a shadow of a doubt, the best all around boxer in the world. too bad he got sick in his old age. i would have loved to see him fight foreman when foreman made his last run! kinda like a rumble in the jungle on geritol.
Remember "The Thrilla in Manila"? After the fight Joe Frazier went to the hospital for two weeks (observation et al). Cassius Clay (that was his Christian name, and I am a Christian) went to the hospital for three weeks (observation et al).
I have always believed that Joe beat the brains of Cassius so much, through the many fights they had, that Cassius ended up with a palsy similar to what Parkinsons' does to elderly people. While Joe didn't win the fights in the ring (according to the Judges and Referees), I am afraid that he won the war. Joe certainly suffers aches and pains, but doesn't seem to be affected in the same way many fighters are after a long ring career. While Cassius Clay didn't take very many head shots, I think the ones that Joe landed, did the damage over the long haul.
People forget about Larry Holmes - pretty much dominated the ring for 10 years. The claim was that all he fought where bums, but he faced every legitimate challenger that came his way. He just made them all look bad.
