I have a Ballester molina if you consider that a 1911. I know it is more like a star. Also what is PARKERIZED?

| Parkerizing (also called phosphating and phosphatizing) is a method of protecting a steel surface from corrosion and increasing its resistance to wear through the application of an electrochemical phosphate conversion coating. Parkerizing is usually considered to be an improved zinc or manganese phosphating process, and not to be an improved iron phosphating process, although some use the term parkerizing as a generic term for applying phosphating (or phosphatizing) coatings that does include the iron phosphating process. Parkerizing is commonly used on firearms as a more effective alternative to bluing, which is another electrochemical conversion coating that was developed earlier. The Parkerizing process cannot be used on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, or copper. It similarly cannot be applied to steels containing a large amount of nickel, or on stainless steel. (See Passivation for protecting other metals.)

My 1911 is a Colt Lightweight Commander in .45 cal. Not for sale. When I ran an inner city supermarket at night, this gun never caused any crime, but it stopped quite a few. I have had some local talent mistake my Colt Detective for a .22 and ask to be shot, but nobody ever mistakes a .45 for a smaller caliber when they are looking at the hole in the muzzle. If you don't have a .45 auto and are looking for one, the 1911 pattern is still on the top shelf. Double action and huge magazines don't trump simplicity and reliability.

While it's not a 1911A1, I do have a Kimber. Is that close enough?

Springfield Armory stainless government model with bells and whistles courtesy of Wilson Combat. I could have bought 2 SA "Loaded" models for what I have in this one, but that was before Springfield started offering them. |

I have a 1911a by Springfield Armory. Their spec model. I love it. It's the easiest gun in the world to shoot! This is not expensive. Not like all the custom jobs. Never malfunctions. Does what it's made to do.
