| Do you have a 1911A1
Picked up a couple more Argentine Sistema. I got a (I think) good deal buying both at the same time. I jumped on them right away when they bacame available. I have watched the prices on these slowly climb over the past couple of years. When pistols in this shape become available at a "good" price I will buy them. These 2 Argies are numbers 9 & 10 for me.
At this rate I will never shoot my Colt's, Ithaca or US&S.
One is parked other one is blue. I purchased them as shooters and will probably "upgrade" them to what I want after I check them out.

I have had an Argentine Sistema for several years and it is one of the best 1911's that I have ever had. It looks really rough and I have no plans to change that. That is just it's character. It is a great shooter and it was cheap. Pick one up if you ever get the chance.

1911 is on my list of must have guns one of these days. However, my priorities have changed and I won't be buying any more guns this year. I gotta buy a house why the market is good and while the government is offering all new home buyers $8,000 if they buy a home before Dec 31st 2009.

A 1911A1 GI and a 1911 compact tactical, both by Rock Island. Got matching white box elder burl grips from Ryan Sarge for both. Really dresses the girls up! Great pistols, easy on the wallet. The compact makes a great daily carry in a iwb holster from Shado.
Would love to own one of the historical colts mentioned in this thread, but I'm just to @#$%$ cheap! So many pistols, so little money.....

I have two 1911's: US Gov. issue & a Llama. I prefer the Gov. issue. I once worked with a Marine Corps Medic who served in Vietnam for 18 months. He told me a story about how he entered a Vietnamese village one day with a group of Marines. He was walking on one side of a house while a VC was walking towards him on the other side. They both met at the corner, face to face. They both froze for a few seconds, then the VC began to take his AK 47 from off his shoulder and at the same time he, in western stile, pulled his 1911 out of his holster and fired off a quick shot hitting the VC in the hip. He said the slug lifted the VC off his feet and he did a complete 360 spin in mid-air. The VC limped off and hid in some weeds. He finished him off with a grenade. 1911's are definitely man-stoppers.

for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
for a bullet impact to send a man flying the recoil of the firearm would send the man holding the gun flying.
i'm callin B.S.
not on you jeff264 but on your Marine Corps Medic
