Sad story: my Dad had one of the first Colt Commanders, and I had always assumed it would be mine eventually.
I should've said something; he gave it to my sister's ex a few years ago. It started jamming on the numbskull, and he traded it for some no-name 9mm instead of having it looked at.
Considering how short the list of probable jamming problems is on those things, trading it away was almost criminal. I'd have paid him good money to keep it on the family, had I known.

Did you beat him over the head with a ball bat? I know I would have.

Yup--when I went full tilt cowboy I sold my modern hardware to get the manadatory lever action, 2 sixguns and Coachgun--not to mention the leather and other get-up--the .22's are the most modern stuff I own right now--although I would like that Para Warthog.....

I have a 1911 A1 copy. The critter is actually a LLAMA Max-I .45 ACP.
It's not the "real" thing , but it gets the job done.:target:

Smith and Wesson.
Not sure if it's a 1A. I'll have to check. Won it in a raffle for 20 bucks, brand new two years ago.
Yesterday, my neighbor got the Colt 1A from his chick for his birthday. The one with USA on the grips. Guess it's going to be military issue.

Custom, Seecamp converted series 70 , Norinco, Colt Delta, SA Omega, and two enchanced series 80 combat commanders. My preference is the 10mm and I'm partial to 3rd generation S&Ws although I am a glock fan too.
