I only shot it less than a dozen times. As a result my accuracy wasn't acceptable. | 1962- I was not even thought of yet. hahaha

I have a few 1911s. Pride and joy is one my granddad gave dad, and dad gave me.
When he was coming home from WWII he walked past the bench where they were turning in weapons. Supply guy said "Hey you got to turn in your pistol."
He looked at him pointed to one of the thousands that were sitting there in a pile and says. "I already did." And walked on.

Hello to all from Arkansas, yes I have a clone. Rocl Island 45acp. It does what I ask of it, shoots and hits the 10 ring at 7 yards.
Best of luck to all.
Mike

I got a 1911A1 Springfield, Parkerized and stoned to perfection. Hammer strikes square and slide moves like it's on ice. I know when I squeeze it will fire.... My favorite CC weapon......Don't leave home without it.....

Very nice paparoach!!!
I just finished customizing the Rock shown in the first two photos of my post #129 above. I'm sure there's some photos here on the site somewhere, but none on this thread. So, here ya go. I took a Rock Gi and made it into a Tactical clone, using Armscor Tactical parts. Used Novak tritium night sights. Then I had that mother polished and hot-blued a deep Royal Blue. And it shoots as good as it looks!

"My" process involves taking it to a gunsmith and forking over lots of cash! It was polished first, then hot blued in the salts tanks, the proper, old-fashioned way. I've never tried any cold blue out of a bottle or kit.

Yeah I have one of the AO 1911A1 "GI", It is ok, a little rough around the edges, but it gets the work done! Only problem i have with it is that USGI magazines don't hold the slide back on the last round, but it isn't that big a deal, I think the newer AOs are better quality and I want one of their WWII repros.

No, I don't have one and never will want one... (I want one really really badly and can't wait until December 3 for my 21st birthday)
