"It is a Navy Arms "collector grade". It is matching except for the bolt and mag. No bayonet, tools, etc.
The rifling looks good, does not look dark, frosted, worn out. I shot it a couple times when I first got it and it hit the target. Otherwise it has just sat.
I removed the upper hand guard yesterday and the barrel looks absolutely new. The butt plate may not be the right one, it appears that the screws are definitely not."
Don't know why I like it but I do...shoots .308
How expensive is the ammo? Thanks y'all!

Nice rifle, Joe! I'd jump on it. Gorgeous wood too - that's by far the nicest Ishy I've seen. I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that all the .308 Ishys had aluminum buttplates. Every one I've seen has, as does the one my buddy has. Alas, I'm no exspurt on Ishapore Enfields.
You could ask around on Gunboards Enfield forum - those fellers could tell ya for sure.
Think I'll let it pass...there is an old revolver in 95 % condition that I want to bid on...watching it till the last minute...ain't gonna get into a bidding war this soon...auction is over next Wednesday.

refinished metal and wood, mag and bolts do not match. whats collector about that??? nothing.
Sellers words...I'm letting this one go...either gonna bid on the like new H&R break action or find something tomorrow at the gunshow. I'm on my 3rd night of my 7 night in a row work week...get off at 6am...gunshow is at 8am...might as well stay up and see if a new or new to me used gun will sooth my feelings! Its theraputic don't ya know?

No ones made a new bid in 3 days...its low now...gonna sit back and watch it and try to slide in at the last minute...if I bid my max, some dingle will come along and inflate the price! I still don't know why someone won't come along and make a modern version of the break action!

P.S. I'm a member of the Maumee Valley Gun Collectors Association that holds the show...we get in for free and get in a 1/2 hour before the public to check out the deals first!

same here, a new top break .22 short up to 44.mag would be a start.
a couple years ago at a German equivelent of our SHOT show, Russiashowed off its .357 top break, with a polymer frame. i wish i knew why its not imported.
