Small Swiss Army knife, wouldn't leave home without it. If I need personal protection, I will use my gun.

I carry a small Case two blade pocket knife all the time. I also carry one or the other of several folding hunters. I always have a utility knife in my jeans pocket and a small utility knife in my shirt pocket. Half of the year I also carry a fillet knife on my belt.

I have a fixed-blade winchester with a 5" blade. Does that count as a pocketknife?

Well when I'm not hunting I carry an old timer two blade everywhere, it's on a belt along with my pocket watch from when I get up till I crash I wear it.
I have generaly got an old navy case knife in the truck, it's real old it's got the green cast aluminium handles. I also carry a hunting knife in the truck, it's got an 8 inch blade, it's a copy of an arkansas toothpick that I made out of an old !!!!!!! file.

I carry three knives daily. Always there is a Gerber Ridge(fine edge) clipped in a pocket. (I may soon replace it with something else...)
There is a Cold Steel "Mini Tac" (plain edge) around my neck and usually under my shirt.
On my belt can be found a Cold Steel "Tai Pan" dagger or a Cold Steel "SRK". I used to carry the now discontinued Cold Steel "Mini Gurkha Light Kukri" until it was stolen at a camping event. I'd give anything to replace that blade, but they are not to be found nowadays. Several companies list them, but don't have them in stock.
Yeah, I'm a knife nut. But I also carry a firearm. Some find it strange, but I carry a 4 5/8" barrel Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt, single action, as my personal defense weapon.
Flame me if ya want to for my choices in knives and guns, but they have served me well even in combat once.

I carry a blade and a gun every day, I find 3 blades and a single action a bit of an overkill in the blade dept. and personally wouldn't carry a single action revolver, but to each it's own, if it serve you well then go ahead and do it.
I'll stick with my Fury 2 3/4" claw and my .40 plinker for every day use.

Of the three knives I carry I'd have to say that the belt knife gets the most use. Even when carrying the Tai Pan dagger I reach for it more often than my small pocket blade. The neck knife is a size in between and really comes into its own around camp especially at mealtime.
On the single action, you're right Mandy. It is what works. I've tried bunches of pistols and revolvers from Sigs to Taurus, and in calibers from .22 to .50. I've found that I can get off a *well placed* round faster with this weapon than any of the others. Most often its the first *well placed* round that ends a gun fight. Works fine on deer close in as well!
