| Gun Show, Eagle River Wis, report....
I went to the gun show at the ice arena in Eagle River yesterday. I sold both guns I took with me for what I wanted to get for them! That was a good surprise! I had half figured I'd be bringing at least one of them home.... I did bring the knife I took with me back tho.... There was the usual assortment of high priced stuff and an ocassional, do it yourselfers abomination. But there was some really good guns there too! I got to see and hold a Bushmaster Bullpup and the Beretta Cx4 Storm. What nice guns! There was also a German made, bullpup looking thing there but I forget the name. I also got to get a real good look at several Saiga's and a really sweet NIB AK/SAR that they were actually reasonable on the price with. Then there were the garands and the like that were really in rough shape and a few guns that were obviously high priced for what they were. Including one 92 FS Beretta that is identical to mine. The sign said, "Like new condition." and so did the price. The problem was, the gun was in good to excellent condition, not Like new. Obvious wear in the magazine well from mags being slid in and out. Wear on the normal areas like the slide, feed ramp, extractor and bolt face. And there was some kind of staining/pitting on the bottom of the frame under the barrel. Like I said, nice gun, good to excellent condition. Mine, at about 1000 rounds, is in like new condition, and is in muchbetter shape than this one. But I did not have the heart to go out to the car and show it to him! It is funny to read some of the descriptions of guns as you really examine them. All in all it was not a bad show, lot's of nice friendly exhibitors, and a few up front and honest ones as well. Another first is I did not spend more than I made/go home with more than I left with!
