Talking Those great Golden Oldies . . .

I'm right now listening to a "half-hour commercial" on TV, hosted by Ringo Starr. They are talking about (and playing bits of) the old Rock&Roll songs we all grew up with. Ah, good tunes . . .

My question though:
They don't make music anything like this now. The "new music" sucks, and I won't even talk about cRAP.
So, is Rock&Roll as we knew it basically dead? Oh sure, we listen to our recordings, and there are some good period movies with the songs on their sound tracks, but is the actual genre of this music gone from the mainstream forever? That's sad.
Makes me feel like my father. He bemoans the loss of "Real Country-Western Music" - heck, so do I, but that's another story.
I feel old . . .

(Ringo got his first set of drums in 1957 - the year I was born!)

Geez you guys are cranky old fussbudgets!

I listen to everything from Chuck berry to Kid Rock...I got blues CD's...Hank Sr., Hank Jr., The Doors...Eminem...POD...AC/DC...Insane Clown Posse...Stevie Ray Vaughn...Frank Zappa...Cyprus Hill...White Stripes...etc...etc.

Once you close your mind to new music you become old and cranky like our parents and seem to age quicker...I can sing along with my 90 year old dad or sing along with the 15 year old kid across the street...makes you more aware of whats going on around you if you know the "lingo"...wake up dudes!
