M1/All things being equal..

Hi all,
....as to price, which year M1 Garand, being new in the wrapper, would you buy for a shooter that you would bet your life on and WHY? NO Gas Traps allowed! These are for shooting not for collecting!
Thanks again for taking the time and effort to open and read and hopefully reply.

1953, H&R. I find the attention to detail to be better on H&Ks. They were made in small enough quantity that more care could be taken during manufacture. I also like the philosophy they had of making their rifles as though the employees sons might use it. I forget the exact phrase they use on the factory signs but its something like that. I have 2 H&Rs and a '43 Springfields and the difference is obvious.

id opt for a '41 or '42 springfield as i prefer having all milled parts. they are all good though.

Hi all,
No one picked an M1C, or M1D. No one picked a NM. I would have gone with an IHC with the LMR Barrel.
Thanks again
