I was making the rounds at the local shops here the other day, and a couple of Varmint rifles caught my eye and reminded me of TEA's pics. I think it was a Savage and a Remington.
Anyway, I just think that the big US makers should up the ante if they're gonna use laminate stocks, and start finishing them so that they don't look quite so dreadfully ugly. We've been offered substantial proof that, given a decent treatment, laminates can look as good, if not better, than plainer grained solid woods.
So why doesn't ANYBODY offer a laminate stocked varmint/target rifle that looks nice? I'm not saying they need to go to as much trouble as TEA, but, from what I know about both the finishing process AND their factory capabilities, I can confidentally say it wouldn't hurt their checkbooks to put a little edxtra spit and polish on those unfortunate looking suckers.
__________________ It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that any people you meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination. |
