I was at a gunshow and came across the Hi-Point 45 acp pistol. I knew that they made carbines but didn't know about their pistols.
The price sure was attractive but I don't know anything about their performance or reliability.
Anybody out there have one of these? What do you like/dislike about them?
I would like some feedback before I jump in and buy one.
Thanks -E-
Hey my dad owns one and I shot about 65 rounds tru it .
Its not as bad as you would think I was only shooting at 10 yards(first time at this range) but it was pretty !!!! right on.
The only problem we had with it was while shooting tru 100 rounds one of the ''spent'' casings did not eject and on this pistol theres so much room in the chamber it still loaded the other round with the ''spent'' casing in it. Luckly I noticed it right away and was able to get the spent case out and continue shooting.
After a while the Hi Point design starts to grow on you. The company also has the best customer serivce on the planet.
I have a Hi-Point 45, and am very pleased with it. I was actually out shooting it today. I have around 500 rounds through mine in two months and it has never jamed or misfired. Amazing accuracy, I was shooting golf balls from 15 and 20 yards today. I would say jump on it. Mine was $200 NIB with extra mag and a holster.

The muzzle end of a .45 acp says "Go away" in pretty much every language.
I have had a .40 for awhile. Picked mine up at reeds for $125. Yesterday when I was shooting was the first time I have had a problem. I usually fire winchester or ultra max ammo but was all out. I have also used blazer alluminum case and never had a problem. So I picked up a box of brass blazer and I had a couple of misfeeds. Other than that a couple thousand rounds and very happy. I don't like the fact that the firing pin is also the ejector pin, but no problems with it. I can pop off 10 rounds at 15 yards and keep it in about a 4 inch group so not bad. The recoil is nothing as well. I bought it for a plinking gun and it does quite well. I would definately recommend. They do have awesome customer service, and a lifetime warranty.
Done a lot of research and handling of the Hi-point 380 ACP. One thing I can't find is how Lefty's feel about it. Can it be converted to allow left-handed operation of the mag release?
I got a .45ACP and LOVE it. I have big hands, and the 45 gives me plenty to hold on to. Because of ammo costs, I decided to get into reloadinf, and have enjoyed that so far. Had a minor jam, sent th pistol off to get it fixed, and felt nekkid with just a 38 special to defend me. They fixed the problem, sent me a ghost ring rear sight, and tossed in a second mag - all for free!
I'd like to get a 45 carbine.
