\I've been told it's the best 22 in the market and has many aftermarket parts available.

i build another just like the million dollar 10/22, except this time i would probably go for a mcmillan stock instead of the bell and carlson clunker.

Yep, my Marlin Model 60, JC Higgins Model 31, Springfield M87A and Marlin Model 88 all outshoot my 10-22 - and all are bone-stock!

I wouldn't go out and buy a new 10/22. Most of us have it as our first rifle and since you're stuck with it (unless you donate it to a younger person), might as well customize it. If I had to purchase a 10/22, I'll try to find only the receiver and the trigger assy since everything else will be swapped out anyway and you can't ebay them off cos everyone's doing the same thing

I'd sell it and use the money to buy hot-rod parts for my current 10/22.

Hey, we're keeping the vendors in business, so they'll sponsor the forum sites to keep them in business, which lets us all post to one another on our latest projects! Yep, it's a vicious circle . . .

Look the 10/22 is great stock out the box. But you can make it better that is why we do it. It is also rewarding to do your own gunsmithing.
I would say a trigger job, get a Power Custom Trigger kit and have fun it is real easy.

soo take it easy there alan some people have different ideas about guns.
