Thumbs up Is the lyric you liked?

LED ZEPPELIN LYRICS

"Hot Dog"

Well I just got into town today
To find my girl who's gone away
She took the Greyhound at the General Store
I searched myself I searched the town
When I finally did sit down
I find myself no wiser than before

She said we couldn't do no wrong
No other love could be so strong
She locked up my heart in her bottom drawer
Now she took my heart she took my keys
From in my old blue dungarees
And I'll never go to Texas anymore

[Chorus:] Now my baby's gone I don't know what to do
She took my love and walked right out the door
And if I ever find that girl I know one thing for sure
I'm gonna give her something like she never had before

I took her love at seventeen
A little late these days it seems
But they said heaven is well worth waiting for
I took her word I took it all
Beneath the sign that said "U-haul"
She left angels hangin round for more

[Chorus]

I thought I had it all sewn up
Our love, a plot, a pick-up truck
But folks said she was after something more
I never did quite understand
All that talk about rockin' bands
But they just rolled my doll right out the door
Oh yeah, they just rolled my doll right out the door!

Jerry...I didn't mean to make fun of a good love song like "Hot Dog." Those lyrics could set off a whole bunch of emotions with people who've had those things happen to them.

every country song has the same story: My baby left me for the trucker down the street...or, my porch feel down and killed my best dog....

Actually, "I got a woman" is my favorite Zep song.

Dedicated to Sniper[MI]

LED ZEPPELIN LYRICS

"Dazed And Confused"

Been Dazed and Confused for so long it's not true.
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Lots of people talk and few of them know,
soul of a woman was created below.

You hurt and abuse tellin' all of your lies.
Run around sweet baby, Lord how they hypnotize.
Sweet little baby, I don't know where you've been.
Gonna love you baby, here I come again.

Every day I work so hard, bringin' home my hard earned pay
Try to love you baby, but you push me away.
Don't know where you're goin', only know just where you've been,
Sweet little baby, I want you again.

Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true.
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Take it easy baby, let them say what they will.
Will your tongue wag so much when I send you the bill?

How The West Was Won
Lyrics By Led Zeppelin

Blood from a stone
Water from wine
Born under earplay design
A stroke of bad luck,
Wrong place, wrong time
This flyer is out of the lime

(chorus)
The story is a sad one, told many times
The story of my life in trying times
Just add water, stir in lime
How the west was won and where it got us

Canary got trapped, the uranium mine
A stroke of bad luck, now the bird has died
A marker to mark where my tears run dry
I cross it, bless it, alkali

(repeat chorus)

I didn't wear glasses cause I thought it might rain
Now I can't see anything
I made a mistake, chalked it up to design
I cracked through time, space, Godless and dry
I point my nose to the northern star,
Watch the decline from a hazy distance

(repeat chorus)

thanks for the lyrics Ox.

Ironically, How the west was won is not on this 3 CD set. Furthermore I've spaced where the song came from originally?????

The boys were ICE hot during this period and they knew it! The only thing better than this CD is the Zeppelin DVD that was released at the same time. A definite CD to own for Rock and Roll purist. The Zeppelin magic and legendry continues with the release of this CD.

james mc gave it a 9:
this cd is incredible. it dates back to an era that appears to be lost to today's money oriented bands. reminds me of the day's of hendrix, rory gallagher, fleetwood mac, thin lizzy etc. REAL MUSIC

Matt I gave it a 10:
Unfathomably good music is a rarity these days. It's a shame Led Zeppelin remind me of that so well with this.

Cozoni W gave it a 10:
I only discovered Led Zep abou 4 years ago but they have allready proved to me they are one of the greatest bands that have ever graced the planet. They shame most of todays music.

Dazed but not confused gave it an 8:
Its actually gotten cool to say you like zeppelin, like if they were some nu-metal band thats a fad...The older heads is gonna know what i'm talking about and were i'm coming from. You have a bunch of 12 year olds going on and on saying, zeppelin is the best band in the world. Puting Led to bands like white stripes, metallica, nirvana,etc...Proclaiming that Led Zeppelin was good but not good as metallica...Please, Zeppelin was one of the most innovative bands to date, doing everything from Pop,Funk, indian music,to reggae and most importantly progressive(yes and was even better at it than Tool)... Now every young musician who knows how to play stairway to heaven is declaring them the best, Why? Beacause of there experimental riffs, or heavy lead vocals, no... Cuz its makes someone look like they have a vast knowledge of music, or is it the pile of shameless sh** we have now that's getting everyone to go back in time...The fact is they were a great band, but like every great band, they began to falter in there later albums(having a few good songs but way to much experimentation)....But wait, i must be crazy there the best band to ever grace the earth,right...There weren’t the best back then, so why are they so overrated now? Well you could answer that...

Not every country song is about losing your wife, dog, manhood, etc...

Toby Keith's ... uhhh...errr...
How about Rascal Flat's ... ...
Or uh... Keith Urban's uhhhh,....

Al right maybe they are, but they're still good to listen to....

A sample of Toby Keith's Red, White and Blue

American girls and American guys will always stand up and salute;
Will always recognize
When we see ol' glory flying,
There's a lot of men dead,
So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our head.

My daddy served in the army,
Where he lost his right eye.
But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died.
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy in the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love has fallen under attack.
A mighty sucker punch came flying in from somewhere in the back.
Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye,
Man we lit up your world like the Fourth of July.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
It's gonna feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...
Brought to you courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!

Oh, Justice will be served and the battle will rage.
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage
You'll be sorry that you messed with the US of A
'Cuz we'll put a boot in your !!!
It's the American way.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...
Brought to you courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!

Of the Red, White and Blue..
Of my Red, White and Blue...

I really didn't mean to say ALL country songs sucked. For example, The Amazing Rhytum Aces, Doctor Hook and many others like John Fogerty have some truly awsome lyrics and great vocals! Main stream country does suck, in my opion but, judgeing by how popular it is, the problem is me and my tastes in music, not country music itself. I urge you to check out some of Doctor Hook, not the stuff that was played on the radio. I think you will be surprized! I know I was.
