In the automotive world, "S" is usually short for "Sport", "L" usually is "Luxury", "T" I would think is "Truck".
Sport Luxury Truck . . .
I remember when they were just simple work vehicles.

Joe, Shaun, arby, mmmm y'all do need a thump upside the head, dontcha. Nothing wrong with any Dodge or a Ford Truck. As long as it ain't no fall-apart chevy anything or Ford car.
As far as SLT goes, would you believe it's just a trim level, with no real meaning anymore. It probably did many years ago, but it has faded in the mists of time.

Yep, it's just alphabet soup anymore. I guess all the catchy names are taken.

I read enough pre-Webster English to have a few alternate spellings for a few words. I tend to say "color" when describing what color something is, and "colours" when describing flags, ie "colourguard".
Way I see it, if it's been spelled that way historically it's fair game.

My Dad just recently got a 2001 Dodge extended cab half-ton. Very nice truck! And he's a life-long FORD man!
