Last night hdtv smoking and catch fire in back, Mongo unhappy. extended warranty used up, toshiba no honour, Mongo threaten Toshiba girl on phone. Now Mongo really mad, mongo threaten tv. Mongo call repairman, tell Mongo tv no good. Mongo out 3500 hundred dollars. Mongo sad, Mongo buy new hdtv, Mongo angry, now Mongo will kill toshiba tv with AK as soon as possible, Mongo happy

Stopper might have some info on the future of HD. Last I heard the government is mandating it, but isn't quite sure what defines HD.

Gummits mandating it, supposed to be up by '06 if I remember correctly. Most studio's, SNG/ENG trucks will still use composite/component cameras and just take the analog signal and up convert to HD. They do this because HD cameras run around $60K - $70K, the price is coming down but that does nothing for us. The NTSC will still be broadcast until 2015 or something like that so old TV's will still have a use for awhile. I could be wrong, I haven't had my morning beerski.
But HD kicks arss, our company is coming up with a up converter, takes SDI and converts to HD.
